Help with names for DC2

Hi

We are expecting DC2 in December (actual due date is 1st Jan) and we are really struggling for names.

We already have a 4.5YO girl called Abigail Lena.

My pregnancy has been so different this time that I have myself convinced I'm having a boy and can't get my head around girls names at all. Plus, I like really girly names like Daisy and Gracie but my OH hates then and thinks they are too posh! OH loves the name Layla at the moment - I don't mind it but not my favourite name and not convinced Abigail and Layla go together.

On boys names, we are pretty much settled on Ben for a boys name, although I'm torn between Ben or Benjamen. I'm not 100% convinced on Benjamen but OH likes it. I prefer just Ben.

I thought it would be easier second time around but apparantly not!

Any suggestions welcome :)

Benjamin on birth certificate and shorten it to Ben - simple. OH can always call him by his full name and DS can chose when older which he prefers.

If DD, I agree Layla and Abigail don't fit brilliantly, but keep an open mind. It's not about how they fit so much as how the name suits the child. How about something like Jennifer, Chloe or Sarah?

Have a list of names ready and then decide when baby is born. :)

As an alternative to Layla, how about Lydia, Lucy, Laura, Louisa or Larissa (Lara)?

If you like Ben but not Benjamin, how about Benedict? Or how about other names in a similar style (biblical and mainstream) like Luke, Matthew, Daniel, David, Samuel, Jacob, Peter?

My sister is an Abigail and I'm a Rebecca. I know two other Rebecca and Abigail pairs too, it seems to be a popular combo.
Other Abigails I know have sisters called Chloe, Kelsey and Hannah

I wouldn't call Daisy and Gracie posh at all!? Trying to go along the same lines as Layla but 'girly' how about:
Bella, Ciara, Callie, Cara, Emily, Ella, Elsa, Elodie, Freya, Gianna, Hollie, Isla, India, Iona, Jasmine, Kayla, Liliana, Lydia, Lucy, Mia, Madeleine, Melissa, Natalie, Olivia, Pippa, Rosie, Sienna, Summer, Sophia, Thea, Violet, Zoe, Zara

I like Ben but would christen Benjamin or Benedict. Probably Benjamin

I'm an Abigail. I don't have a sister, but my mother would have called my brother Jessica if he were a she.
Brothers are Dominic and Barnaby. My mother regularly got compliments on a great sibset.
