From your list I'd go with Luca, although I prefer Luke.

Honestly? I like Joseph, but not keen on any of your first names. I tend to prefer classic older names.

Luca is the nicest, though I prefer Lucas.

Tyler and Cory are very surnamey, unisex type names. Probably pretty popular in America (nowt wrong with that btw, just more associate them with America than here). Not my kind of thing at all. Do you like other surname type names. Morgan, Mason, Connor, Macauley etc?

Dislike Cory and Tyler. Luca is okay but I prefer Luke or Lucas or even Lucius.

My uncle is a judge and says that there are lots of Tylers going through the courts at the moment...

Joseph is lovely but I do not especially like any of your first name picks. I like Luca but only if your heritage is Italian; otherwise I prefer Luke.

I think all three names sound good with Joseph - choose a name YOU love, not us! Thankfully we all have different tastes - wouldn't it be dull if we all chose the same/similar names! Good luck!

I like Cory and Luca, not so keen on Tyler as it's very very popular round here. Joseph is a lovely name.

They're not names I love, but more importantly, they're not names you love! Why are you choosing names you're 'not overly excited' about? Do you and your DP have trouble agreeing on names?

Nobody said anything that wasn't nice Hmm

Why ask if you don't want people to actually tell you what they think?

Report
Narked · 24/09/2012 09:03

Grin You ask a question and then insult people over the (very reasonable) responses. Perhaps you should only ask people who will tell you exactly what you want to hear. Whatever that is!

Haha oh dear. What did you expect? People gave reasonable opinions.

Btw, that saying is redundant if you ask people for their opinions.

Confused

'what do you think?'

I am confused. I thought when you asked what we thought, you wanted to know what we thought. Did you actually mean 'say nice things about these names and don't comment if you don't like them'.

People were very polite and honest. That's the beauty of MN baby names threads, people will be honest. In rl people care about your feelings and often won't be honest. My friend has just given her ds a name I think is not very pleasant at all. In fact it's not even a name, she invented it. But it's a done deal, she's chosen it so I just say 'congratulations, I'm really pleased you've found a name you love'. If somebody on here asked about that name, I'd say I disliked it.

In the end though it doesn't matter what anybody else thinks. You pick a name you like. Don't ask if you don't want to hear what people think.

And btw, labeling a lot of women who have taken the time to politely and honestly answer your question and to offer you other suggestions, 'hormonal' does fit your definition of 'if you can't say anything nice...'

The only rude person on the thread so far is actually you.

PS the only hormones I have atm are happy bfing ones. Grin

I think you're almost there with names! Luca Joseph W is the best, and I think you should modify the first name to Luke and call him Luca as a cute, at-home nickname.

Report
lottiegarbanzo · 25/09/2012 19:55

Ah, was going to give a bit of my time to responding helpfully to your request but it appears half my response would not be acceptable to you as I like one name but really dislike another. What to say? Luca's nice. There you go.

lottiegarbanzo · 25/09/2012 20:06

'Course if you've nothing nice to say about us OP...

More to the point, have you read the baby names threads before?! People are often um, forthright.
