We may have found a name at last. DH has a similar first name, and it means 'son of the grey haired' which is apt as we are both ancient.

Any thoughts oh wise but brutally honest ones Grin

It's very American I think so it might work better in the US. Plus if you or others shorten it to grey, people are going to think you are a fan of the fifty shades shit.

It makes me think of revenge! But I love it Grin

i like it shortened to Grey but like Morde said about the 50 shades shite!!

I don't particularly like surnamey first names. In this case, I would imagine it was in honour of Grayson Perry, transvestite potter, Turner Prize winner and all-round superstar. But that would be no bad thing as GP is a national treasure.

The only Grayson I know is an American woman.

Don't like it, sorry.

I was a bit concerned about the fifty shades connection too, but can honestly say his conception had nothing to do with it!

aspiemum Why revenge?

I like it because of Grayson Perry, who speaks a lot of sense.

Isn't that one of the characters names? Or maybe I'm thinking of the wrong show Confused

Still love the name though

I like it. Grayson Perry is indeed very cool. His teddy bear is called Mr Measels - also an awesome name.

Its horrid. Perhaps fine as a middle name, but very unattractive as a first.

I think it's very trendy, and it also reminds me of the old He-Man cartoons.

There are loads of names for people having children when they're older -- what about Isaac? (I'm sure you're not that old.)

No... I don't know why It'snot the Larry thing. Perhaps I feel drab when I say it "Grey son...." It doesn't sound like a happy name.#

Nice name for a grey horse though.

I don't like it, it sounds like a surname

I would assume it was after Grayson Perry as it's the only time I've ever heard the name

lljkk · 23/09/2012 17:53

I first heard of this as a Girl name, and I still don't like it. I suppose you could do worse.

It's popular here in the US and getting more popular. A friend's son is called Grayson and it suits him. I think it grows on you after a while so if you like it go ahead. With the way US trends tend to cross the ocean, it might be more common in a few years time in the UK too.

Bit of a marmite response, that I quite like actually. Thank you for your honesty.

teapot that made me laugh! Not quite that old, but getting there!

We are not 100% decided, and may well wait to see what he looks like.

I know of a baby - ok, a man now - called Brown.

Compared to that, Grayson is colourful and fun!
