Can you help me think of some names which are along the same lines as these ones?

Ottillie
Etta
Elodie
Cerys
Eira
Corinna

I'm trying to help one of my best friends to choose a girl's name - she's due in 3 weeks and she's finding it difficult to find names which she and her DH both like. With DC1 it was a matter of going through several names till there was finally one to which he said "yes, i like it!" so hoping to find that one. (FWIW that was me with my DC1 also!)

However I'm pregnant as well (but not due for ages) and we both like similar kinds of names so this thread could name two babies!

Romilly
Seren
Aurelia
Genevieve

They were all on our list - we have a Romilly.

I like your list. I also liked Evadne and Harper but DP vetoed ( and it was pre-Beckham).

Thanks Princess :)

Not sure if I've suggested Seren to my friend, I'll add it to the list ...

I have a dd with one of your names, and these were the other names I liked (but couldn't convince dh!)

Maples that's interesting. Ottillie's my favourite from that list I think. I've also heard Elodie being used more, I reckon it's a name on the rise.

The name doesn't have to be really unusual - just something that's not over-used. Although probably mentioning her DS does have a fairly unusual name so that's a consideration - it needs to be fairly unusual to "go" I guess.

My friend for example loves Evie but has been put off it because it's so poplar, but is considering Naomi as her DH suggested it. She's not 100% convinced, but not because it's so popular, she's just not sure she likes it enough as a name.

She can't have any of the ones in my OP, they're all names which have been vetoed!

How about Lucile to add to the list? I think it's pretty, not used that often...I know of a French girl with that name, probably more popular over in France.

By the way, I love Elodie & Coralie...such gorgeous names!

If she likes Evie, could you suggest Genevieve with the nickname Evie? (then can be Genevieve when she's being all grown up, or if there are several in her class).

I currently love the name Persephone, but a) I'm not pregnant and b) DH doesn't like it.

Ah - Corinna was on our list but had 2 boys! Also like:

Tamsin
Vashti
Rhiannon
Meredith
Meryl

Phaedra is a Greek name but in myth she was somewhat unfortunate, which would put me off en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Phaedra
