What do you think of Leah.

I love it but I am the same age and from the same place as Leah Betts who does after taking ecstasy in the 1990s and my friends think everyone would think of that, though we don't live there any more.

Also would you say it Lee-ah of Lay-ah? I'd say Lee-ah but am keen to know what others would do.

Really lovely name. I would never think of Leah Betts.

Leah has a very crisp and fresh sound.

Haven't thought about poor Leah Betts since the time of her death.

Nooooo I'm from that age and no way I would think of that.

I like it.

DD has a friend called Leah. I chat with Leah's granny once or twice a month about stuff. I cannot for life of me remember the right pronunciation. I take a leap of faith of every time I say her name. I'm not even sure there is a consistent pronunciation, DD doesn't seem to bother correcting me (does for everything else). I'm pretty sure her full name is hyphenated Rose or Grace or something, but I've forgotten that too.

It's probably a sign I'm getting old... but anyway, you have to be braced for the likes of folk like me who can't keep it straight.

Princess Leah.

Princess Leia in Star Wars - different pronunciation. Quite like Leah

Lee - ah here too.
It's common enough over the years to not have a particular link with any news story for me, but uncommon enough to not be heard every time you turn round too. A good criteria for a name IMO.

Pretty sounding name. Unfortunately it means 'cow'

I'd say it Lee-ah, and strongest association by far is the Bible.

I think the correct pronunciation is 'Lee-ah', but my cousin's name is Leah and our family say 'Leer'.

I'd forgotten all about Leah Betts until I read your post.

I have only heard it pronounced Lee-ah or Lee, not Lay-a. I like it.

In my baby names book it says Leah means 'weak eyes' Hmm ...so no, I'm not keen!
I have however taught a lovely although slightly bonkers Leah and would pronounce it Lee-ah

I immediately thought of Leah Betts but it is a lovely name and not many around now. I would pronounce it Lee-ya.
