I loves Ralph when pg with ds1. Both dh and I loved it.

But everyone made fun if it. Lots of comments about it being the bit out of the Simpsons who picks his nose Sad

We decided on Alfie in the end. But still love Ralph.

Congratulations on your boy. Boys are fab Wink

Ralphie stop picking your nose.

Apologies, Simpsons have a lot to answer to.

Assuming you'd pronounce it 'Rafe' - yes, love it.

I know a 3 year old Ralph - "Ralf-ie" mostly. Very cute (the name and the child).

I grew up with a Ralph who would be in his early thirties now.

It's a nice name however as someone has mentioned there is a Judy Blume book called Forever and the guy in it calls his penis Ralph. I wouldn't have thought of The Simpsons but now you come to mention it....Hmm

karatekimmi · 08/08/2012 07:04

It will always be the name of the penis in Judy Blume's book forever. Sorry.

JollyHockeyStick · 08/08/2012 07:05

I love it :)

Not a fan I am afraid. I also think of the penis in Forever but also don't really like it as a name in any event.

Do you ahve any other choices?

It is on my list but DH hates it- says it reminds him of a term of reference for vomit, along with Hugh and Barth!

another one who thinks of Judy Blume immediately

Just Blume and vomit sound for me- I'm really sorry, but you did ask!

And Ralph-pronounced-Rafe is a bit....I don't know... trying to be posh?

How about Rufus?

So do I everlong- I was thinking of a similar sort of name without the other connotations!

Not good. Slang for 'to be sick'. Unless its pronounced Rafe I guess. Just don't team it with the middle name Scoop, like someone I know of Confused

I wouldn't, I immediately think of the Judy Blume book and memories of passing it around and sniggering at school. Maybe that's just my generation though!

I like the 'Rafe' pronunciation, but don't like the look of 'Ralph' written down.
