Which of the following do you like best with DSs name which is Jasper. I would them to sound nice together - I know this doesn't matter to some but I don't want their names to sound odd together. I need as many thoughts as possible as we need a name very soon! Any other suggestions welcome.

Megan
Cassie
Catherine
Erin
Emily

I think they all sound good, but the repeated 's' sound in Cassie might sound a bit hissy with Jasper.

My favourite name from your list is Emily.

I love Cassie, contrastingly, I like the repeated 's' sound in the two names.

Thanks Teardrop, I had that thought too. I like Emily but its very popular and just wondered if we need a name that is the equivalent in terms of popularity as Jasper.

Jasper & Emily sound the best together.

Jasper & Catherine sound a little bit too matchy but stylistically are bang on.

Jasper & Cassie are too matchy (Jas and Cass). I also think with a rather elegant, formal-sounding name like Jasper, a diminutive or nickname doesn't work well for a sibling.

Erin and Megan are nice names but they don't seem to sit right next to Jasper.

Are you after suggestions? If so, you might like Jasper and Cecily - bit like Emily, bit like Cassie?

Must say I like Emily with Jasper the best:) The name Emily isn't around that much around here (west dorset) not heard that at all for ages - it's really pretty.

Go to announcements.telegraph.co.uk/births and type in the name you are interested in - simple as that! :) You can also browse the listings, which I like to do sometimes to see what names people are using at the minute. It's not the most representative source, of course, but it is interesting. I've come across some interesting choices on there! I tend to look up names I like to see if there are any babies with those names listed and if they have any siblings. Usually if you both like the same name, there'll be some commonground. Have considered names I wouldn't have thought about as a result!

Stellan, also meant to say - it's interesting how people perceive names in different ways. I've never thought of Jasper as a formal name - more kind of quirky. Thats one of the resaons why we all like different names I suppose!

Love Jasper! Emily gets my vote, I only know one who is 30 years old so don't think it's super popular.
