DP is especially keen on one of these. But I'm not saying what.

I want to see what the consensus is.

So, over to you.

Oh middle name to be Victoria.

Molly! But I am biased and have chosen it for my dd who is due on Tuesday.
Haven't however chosen a middle name.....

Molly, Iris, Emily.
I am also biased as have a Molly and have always loved the name
Iris is a lovely name
Emily - like it but not as much as other two.
They all go with Victoria, IMHO.
So come on, which one does DH like Wink

Molly.. Followed closely by Emily and not keen on Iris.. Bit harsh sounding.

I used to know an Iris and she was a cow, that's what's holding me back.

Iris. Its my very dear GM's name, and also one of my dd's middle names.

How are you doing McPhee?

What holds me back about Iris is the body-part connection. I can't say it without thinking about eyes. Are any other body parts used as names? I can't think of any (and I do appreciate that Iris comes from the flower - although why are they called that?).

Iris is beautiful.

I was hoping everyone would say Molly Blush

To be far, I've chosen the boys name. Oh damn, am I going to have to let him choose this? When he came out with it, I think I was a bit shocked tbh.

Not a great day today. Very uncomfortable and tearful. Two days to go and counting...

Sorry to hear you're teary - I always get ver hormonal towards my due date. Sending you some Thanks.

If you have a bad association with it, then don't use it. I wouldn't, regardless of how beautiful it is.

Maybe just hold off on name discussions until she's born? Both agree to forget it for a few days? (Hard, I know!)

I like Molly best but only as a pet name for a longer version

StepOutOfSpring · 20/06/2012 17:54

Emily, definitely :) Emily Victoria sounds lovely - both names pretty and classic and flow well together.

Iris too faddy, Molly too nicknamey.

Molly goes very well with Victoria in my opinion- better than Emily, and Iris doesn't go at all, I don't think.
But....it really depends on what would fit well with baby's surname.....as that's what they will hear more than their middle name.

Baby will have my Surname, DP doesn't know that yet Confused

Iris is beautiful, way ahead of the others for me, although they are nice too, just don't stand out from the crowd for me

At first, I did like Amelie. But DP said it sounded just like Emily Hmm

Iris is lovely or Molly is my second choice...But not Emily! I know of 4 emily's born in the last month and a good few more over the past 6 months. VVVVVV Popular... plus it reminds me of Emily Bishop from Corrie years ago.

Iris is so fresh and clean sounding. Not common but not crazy sounding. I love it.

I have a Molly and still love the name, I like Iris too. Emily is perfectly fine but I don't especially like it.

I love Iris, beautiful, beautiful name. Iris Murdoch is one of my favourite authors.

Emily is classic, timeless, but very popular.

Molly went out of fashion and is now very 'in', so I fear it may not age well, iyswim.

One mnetter has an Iris and Wren. Now I love both of them.
