For a girl? I like it... Is it too boyish?

I would go for Stephanie and nn Stevie, that way she can choose which she prefers when older.

I would use Stephanie and have Stevie as a nickname too.

I know someone who has a daughter called Stevie, and she said that loads of people got confused and thought that she had a son when they heard the name.

I love it and would have chosen it if DS had been a DD, but there was thread on here a couple of months ago where most people were dead against it including poster who had changed her name from Stevie to something else as she had really suffered bullying because of it...........I can't link to it on my phone but do have a look at the thread.

It's awful. Steve/Steven is ugly enough on a man. I think people would presume you were referring to a boy too.

I don't really like it, sorry. Evie is very popular, but I much prefer it.

What about two names you could put together that would give Stevie as a nn but would still give the option of using a proper name?

For example Stella Evie = St Evie
or my favourite Anastasia (Stasia) Evie.= St Evie

i know a little Stevie, and her name really suits her. I think it's nice although it's not one I'd choose myself

It reminds me of Sister Steve from The Father Dowling Mysteries who was always going undercover as a gangster's moll or a stripper. So a big thumbs up from me!
