MarianForrester Mon 14-May-12 18:21:08

I don't know any, but I really like it

UsedToBeAContender Mon 14-May-12 18:23:25

Love it. Absolutely love it!

Flubba Mon 14-May-12 18:26:20

Quite like it, but my aunt's dog is called Juno.

AWomanCalledHorse Mon 14-May-12 18:27:30

I think of the old lady in Beetlejuice!
I still like the name...although if you're Northen it can sound like 'D'ya Know'?

wheniwishuponastar Mon 14-May-12 18:30:04

I like it. It makes me think of the film.

popsicle1984 Mon 14-May-12 18:35:14

I associate it with the film too much. Such an annoying character too! Aaargh!

MarySA Mon 14-May-12 22:40:08

Presumably for a boy? Not keen I'm afraid.

DottieRose Mon 14-May-12 23:05:19

No it's a girls name actually

HolyCameraConfusionBatman Mon 14-May-12 23:06:29

I love the film. I don't like it as a name on it's own though. Maybe as a nn for something else.

MarySA Mon 14-May-12 23:08:28

Oops. Sorry. Shows how much I know!

lemniscate Mon 14-May-12 23:13:03

Love it. Fabulous strong name for a girl - Roman goddess, protector of women. Failed to persuade DH in time for DD although it has grown on him such that if we have another DD we might end up using it

NenNen Mon 14-May-12 23:16:57

My niece is a Juno. I think it's a beautiful name. Someone once asked if it was short for Juniper, which is also pretty. smile

DottieRose Mon 14-May-12 23:22:54

NenNen what kind of reactions does your little niece get to her name??

Heartbeep Mon 14-May-12 23:27:52

Love it.

lilbreeze Mon 14-May-12 23:30:15

I love it too - the look and sound, the meaning and the film. I know one baby Juno.

NenNen Tue 15-May-12 10:45:00

Some people ask if it's made up but generally reactions are positive. We live in the South so don't tend to get the 'd'ya know' comments. smile

Love it. It reminds me of the Seán O'Casey play Juno and the Paycock. I've never seen the film Juno.

AnEcumenicalMatter Tue 15-May-12 11:05:11

I know a little Juno. I'm not particularly keen on the name myself but it's been generally well received.

RomyMadison Tue 15-May-12 11:31:41

Juno to me sounds like a nickname. And the association with the film it reminds me of a grubby girl. Plus is sounds like Bruno which is a dogs name.

Chandon Tue 15-May-12 11:33:43

Character in my favourite book is called Juno (Mary Wesley: Part of the furniture), she is strong and a great character. So I guess I like it!

LadyClariceCannockMonty Tue 15-May-12 11:35:41

Love it. I don't know any Juno people but did once meet the most gorgeous dog named Juno. I don't mean that in a 'you shouldn't call your daughter that' way at all.

WithACherryOnTop Tue 15-May-12 12:54:17

I hate it. Not nice at all imho, and it makes me think of that bloody awful film.

DottieRose Tue 15-May-12 13:30:51

I'm surprised from my "research" on the web the amount of people that either think it is a boys name or a nickname!!! I would have thought that it was really well known confused

bigbluebump Tue 15-May-12 13:33:40

I assumed it was a boys' names too. A lot of feminine names end in -a and boys' in -o, that's probably why. I probably wouldn't choose it myself, but if you like it, why not? At least it's not already used by lots of others.
