Arabic yet 'English sounding' boys names

Just found out dc2 is a boy.

My partner is of north African decent and very loosely follows Islam.

Basically he wants an 'English sounding' name as much as I do as he is English born and bred. However he does want to give our children names recognised under Islam.

So far we have Zachary and Noah on our very small shortlist. Does anyone have any others we could use? (aside from Adam, that's been vetoed!)

TIA

we got through this by giving DS a very English name and a VERY Arabic Middle name.

Our surname is very Arabic.

Adil, pronounced Ardel. Lovely name, lovely man who owns it.
When I had DD in Oman, the boy next door was called Adaham. Slightly different to Adam. Any use?

Elias
Ali
Adan (with an 'n'. alternative spelling, which is more Anglicised, Aidan, or Aiden)

I used to know a Muslim guy called Haris. I have also seen the spelling Harris used by Muslims.
Faris is also an Arabic name that sounds quite international (and pretty modern).

DHs lovely friend with the same cultural mix & is a Farris, which IMHO is a great name for a DS, sounds sort of modern English, but isn't :)

Congratulations! My children have the same cultural mix. DS has a very Arabic first name but Sami as a middle name. Other suggestions are:

Tarik
Omar
Zane
Adham
Kamran
Shariff

I really love Ayman which someone else mentioned too, DS was very nearly called this.

Sorry, didn't notice you didn't want Adham.

Adam, sorry just noted the veto
Samir (shorten to Sam)
Abraham

Are all the 'old testament' / 'tamuld' names valid? What about a David?

I have the same issue and have just got all excited at the sight of Daniel on the list above - but just been informed by DP that is is Arabic, but not Muslim - so back to the drawing board!
Out list, also very short is
Ali
faris
I love Solomon, but DP says it is very old fashioned, and won't even consider it :(

I thought we'd have a boy after two girls but its Another girl... But I had picked the name "raif" for a boy I think it's super cool and it also means wolf in German.
Others I considered were Zane, Zachary, Dean, Ryan, Laith and Caden
Congrats :)
