Nancy - Thoughts?

I have a gut feeling we are having a Boy so have said DH can name Baby if a Girl ;-)
At 41 weeks he has switched from Eleanor Kate Morgan to Nancy Kate Morgan - I am cool with it as I think they are both pretty names and it is so nice to have the weight off my shoulders.
It will not make a difference but it is nice to get outsider opinions sometimes.

Eleanor is my DD2's 1st name and I love it. But I also love Nancy - I always wanted to be Nancy in Swallows and Amazons. Didn't occur to me as a name for either DD for some strange reason, but absolutely love it.

Think you can't go wrong either way

would it be bad to try and have another girl to have a 'Nancy'? Grin

I love Eleanor and Nancy and have both of them on my list for my dc due in a few weeks. Sorry that's not much help!

I would prefer Nancy I think if it was short for something - but can only think of Agnes or Anne and am not sure of those.

I have an 18m Nancy and have always been complimented (that sounds odd, but ykwim) on her name. I (obviously) love it.

Nancy is a great name - Eleanor always gets shorted to Ellie which I'm not so keen on :)

One of the nicest people I know is called Nancy. It completely changed my opinion of the name.

I don't like Nancy at all, it sounds like a middle aged American Housewife name to me. And not elegant imo.

Eleanor or Eleonora, on the other hand, is feminine and beautiful to my ears. Also works very well in other languages (which Nancy does not imo).

I much prefer Nancy, it's a great name. Never been a fan of the "Elle/Ellie" names..
