I have a Mollie. I think it looks far nicer personally.

It was also the spelling used more in the past, say 1900s. Molly was used as well but generally was lower down the "popular" names charts. The older women I have known with the name have also been Mollie. The Molly spelling appears more popular now though.

Mollie like hula I like this spelling. I grew up reading Millie mollie Mandy and I think that why mollie looks the right spelling

Although having now looked up the books on amazon it appears my memory is ropey and the books were in fact Milly molly Mandy - weird could have sworn it was with ie's

The children are Molly.

Molly looks more nicknamey to me and I prefer Mollie.

Littlecherublegs - Mollie IS the ordinary spelling! Look back in history type books and statistics for England. Mollie was the more popular spelling, not Molly. Molly is just more popular now, that's all.

I have a Molly, I was really wanting a Molly so I told my husband it was a choice between Polly or Molly...we just call her Schmoo though and her sister is Chubachup. the bump is called Muffin for now on account of my super awesome muffintop I am growing.....

I prefer the name spelt Mollie, but like cubtrouble said she will be forever having to say no its 'ie' not 'y' at the end. We had a dog called Mollie, lovely little golden retriever puppy.

TBH it doesn't really cause us that much issue. No worse than my name being Claire and automatically spelling it out. Maybe I am just used to it so it never really felt unusual to spell out Mollie either.
