Name debate part 2

SacreLao · 06/11/2011 19:05

Ok since OH has now realised what fucking awful chavvy not very nice names they tend to like, they have upped the game by choosing another name to debate me with.

Same rules as last time, not saying who prefers what name in the interest of fairness and it's a simple vote as to which girl's name you prefer.

Simone
or
Evelyn

Evelyn, but would want to be called either tbh.

Evelyn :)

Don't like Simone at all, sorry. Also, I'm not enormously keen on Evelyn - there are loads of Evies around at the moment.

Not that keen on either: at a push, I'd go for Simone (as at least that's definitely a girl's name, and Nina Simone is cool).

Evelyn is increasingly a female name, but unisex to many, and it still says boy to me (Evelyn Waugh). I'm not big on unisex names, hence I wouldn't choose this, but perhaps that's not important to you.

Evelyn reminds me of ancient Irish aunts, and Eve/Evie are so played out as nicknames.

So Simone, for me.

Evelyn.

Evelyn, although Eve names are v. popular.

I don't like the "moan" sound in Simone.

Either. Simone has the edge.

Evelyn, which is a family name and it only sounds right to me if pronounced "Ev-lin". Simone is fine, too, though.

Both are okay, but just okay, to me.

Evelyn

Simone is a 1980s Sloane Ranger with a power suit, mobile phone the size of a suitcase, and a condescending sneer.

I prefer Simone, given the choice, but don't love either.
