It's a family name in my case, but I'd like to know what others think... ?

CandiceMariePratt Sun 02-Oct-11 18:18:11

I like it

QBEE Sun 02-Oct-11 18:21:57

like it! it's bonnie grin

fuckityfuckfuckfuck Sun 02-Oct-11 18:23:16

People will forever be asking where Bonnie is

Horrible, sorry. Not quite as horrible as Clive but close. Use as a middle name if feel you have to use it?

Meteorite Sun 02-Oct-11 18:48:28

There will be too many Bonnie jokes I'm afraid. Fine as a middle name though.

3 dislikes, 2 likes.

Just out of curiosity (I'm not from England) - what makes it horrible? Is it too crusty old man, or inbred yokel, or what?..

Candice Marie, I just noticed your username - awesome ;)

Not bad, was going to say I prefer Clive but see it's a family name.

It's not even crusty old man ,it's boring beige man who goes for a run out on Sundays in his Mondeo and parks up to eat some tasteless sandwiches

Its the name of the orangutan in those "Every which way but....." films. You could stick it in as a middle name, if you like it, I just can't see a young Clyde - baby or boy. Of course if its a girl .... grin

ChateauMargot Sun 02-Oct-11 20:08:50

DH has mentioned an orangutan, too - I had no idea what he was on about!

I LOVE it!!!

I like Clyde - nicer than Clive imo.

helendigestives Mon 03-Oct-11 09:02:06

My first thought was Clyde from the Sarah Jane Adventures. It's a great name.

greenzebra Mon 03-Oct-11 09:10:20

I think its a cool name, but I do think of Bonnie and Clyde (but a boy might like the association) and Clyde the Orangutan.

Theres always Clydell?

startail Mon 03-Oct-11 09:17:19

My first thought was it's a river, but actually I quite like it.
There's a Cole at school and that's nice. Yes, Clyde could defiantly work, it's short easy to say and easy to spell.

Thanks so much for your thoughts. It seems to be a real Marmite name, so depends on how brave we're feeling (and if I can convince DH!)
