This is a traditional family middle name of ours passed down several generations. We've always believed the pronounciation to be as above. (I guess that doesn't have to mean we're right though)

Surely if you want "rose-a-lee" the spelling would be Rosa-Leigh?

It's like Rosamund - Ros is said "roz", so "roz-a-lee"

ROSE-uh-lee/ROE-zuh-lee, definitely.

I think it's French in origin, so I'm guessing the French pn would fall somewhere between 'Roz' and 'Rose', with the length of the O halfway between the two. Hence the disputed anglicised versions.
