Expecting DS2 and this is top of our name list - what are your thoughts?

We already have a DS called Roman Alexander and plan to use the middle name Patrick as it is a family name.

So what do you think - love it or loath it?

Love it smile

Like it, nice and unusual but still sort of classic.

Wouldn't be my choice. He'll get Connie.

I love your other choses names.

What about Cassius/Cassian instead?

BibiBelle Mon 26-Sep-11 22:46:17

Connie, Stan or Teenie if he's little grin but still a no from me.

I wouldn't like the name in the playground. Bound to be Connie.

I love Constantine, it's a beautiful name.

You've not seen the film then?

I really like Constantine - classic, underused name. Goes very well with Roman.

I'd shorten to Stan or Tinny, if at all. I know a German Konstantin (pron. Kon-stan-teen) who used to get called Konti (Kon-tee) when he was little).

I like Constantine.

MissWilde Tue 27-Sep-11 18:44:58

It's great! Again I would shorten it to Stan if at all.

After seeing the film - nooooooooooooo..... would always have negative connotations to me, chain smoking exorcist.... mmmmmm no.

As Constantine ruled the Roman empire, it'll provoke some interesting sibling rows! (But they'll probably happen anyhow).

I think of it firstly as a surname, and then as a religious Christian name. I do rather like it.

GwendolineMaryLacey Tue 27-Sep-11 19:01:36

Love it. I love Kostya as a nn but you'd need Konstantin for that I guess... <ponders>

frutilla Tue 27-Sep-11 19:02:52

Rhubarbgarden Tue 27-Sep-11 20:01:19

A bit long for me. Not the easiest name to carry off.

upatdawn Tue 27-Sep-11 20:25:16

FairyArmadillo Tue 27-Sep-11 21:11:29

Tino is another possible short form.

reallacecurtains Wed 28-Sep-11 10:56:47

kelly2000 Wed 28-Sep-11 16:48:07

Sorry, but I hate it. Sounds like it is trying to hard to be unusual.

Kayzr Wed 28-Sep-11 16:49:14

I love it!!! Goes so well with Roman too

I like it smile

BTW, those referencing the film/comic book character - his name was actually John, Constantine was his surname.
