Hi, i would love all your opinions please! My favourite is Clara, however im Claire and sometimes get called Clara, also my husband is not too keen on Clara. He loves Annabelle, which i like too however im worried that people will always be wondering how to spell it and it will get abbreviated. Ive always liked Eliza and my husband has just come round to it, not sure if im bullying him into it though smile Im due in two weeks and havent got a clue! I like solid classic names. x

Eliza, then Clara (both lovely, but can see why you want to avoid as close to your name)....

Then Annabelle.
<hopes visual representation gets point across>

Clara or Eliza. Annabelle is not very nice imo.

Clara is lovely, prefer Elize/Elise to Eliza and don't like Annabelle.

brodanbell Sat 24-Sep-11 17:28:31

Prefer Annabel (and this spelling, not belle). Annabel Clara works, indeed so does Annabel Claire, even Annabel Eliza at a stretch.

Clara is lovelysmile

Xavielli Sat 24-Sep-11 18:06:26

Clara

Xavielli Sat 24-Sep-11 18:08:12

A friend has an Annie Clara, which goes nicely together.

bloombloombell Sat 24-Sep-11 20:19:24

ooh i like Annie Clara, though my other daughters are Rosie and Lucy, do you think having an Annie would be too many eeee endings? smile

brodanbell Sat 24-Sep-11 22:58:03

just realised, there is an Annie & Clarabel in Thomas the Tank Engine, so Annie Clara or Annabel Clara might be a bit similar?

Xavielli Sat 24-Sep-11 22:58:24

They'll not always be lumped together as a sibling set. I think all 3 are lovely names in their own right and do follow a similar style. Wouldn't bother me personally smile

IHeartKingThistle Sat 24-Sep-11 23:00:09

All lovely. Annabel as the spelling though, please!

NadiaWadia Sat 24-Sep-11 23:02:00

Clara is lovely, but too similar to your own name, don't you think? A middle name, maybe.

Overall I'd suggest Annabel. The 'belle' ending is a bit too frilly?

Eliza yes quite nice.

Annabel Clara?

ChessPiece Sat 24-Sep-11 23:03:51

How about simply Anna or even Belle?

PixieCake Sun 25-Sep-11 11:22:55

What about Clarabel?

serin Sun 25-Sep-11 11:44:24

Eliza (but i do like them all).

dearheart Sun 25-Sep-11 12:29:02

Clara!

Dolallytats Sun 25-Sep-11 12:32:16

Annabel or Clara....not too keen on Eliza. Or, like Chesspiece says, what about Belle. I have a niece called Belle & it really suits her.

themightyskim Sun 25-Sep-11 12:53:41

Im sorry but I dont like Clara at all makes me think of old ladies (sorry if thats offensive im only giving you insight in to my daft head) I love Eliza and Annabelle though smile

Clara and Eliza are my favourites, probably would go for Eliza as Clara quite similar to your name.

PuppyMonkey Sun 25-Sep-11 14:53:27

Eliza.

End of.

I have got an Annabel, who is often gets called Annie. I love her name and chose it because I think it has got lots of lovely shortenings.

Papyrus Mon 26-Sep-11 15:20:26

I have an Eliza, Anna (Annie) and Clara - you have very good taste in names grin.

withLainintheWired Mon 26-Sep-11 19:35:25

Eliza. Clara is nice but far too similar to your name.

bloombloombell Mon 26-Sep-11 19:41:59

Papyrus, what a coincidence smile

Grrrr my husband has said he has now completely gone off Eliza! Now thinking Annabel/belle and Clara as a middle name. Maybe i should just be a bully and insist on my fav Eliza, after all its going to me going through all the pain!
