Before I hack my own head off, never mind my awkward DH's. If I don't choose a name soon I may explode with fury!

I prefer Emilia. Best of luck with your decision!

MrsOzz Mon 12-Sep-11 13:41:34

Georgia!

I don't like Lydia or lyds as a nn.
Emilia will forever be 'no not Amelia, like Emily with IA instead of the Y' plus it's everywhere!!

I prefer Lydia.

Emilia is very widely used already, as is Emily, Amelia, Amelie etc. Georgia just reminds me of the US state.

Georgia. I like all of them though, which isn't very helpful.

Georgia or Georgina

Lydia.

Georgia is alright though.

Emilia has the Amelie/Amelia issue though.

Lydia is one of my favourite names for a girl, so it gets my vote. Quite like Lyds, Lyddie for nn as well.
Followed in close second by Georgia, which is also on my list, just a bit further down.
Emilia doesn't do anything for me I'm afraid.

Georgia - NN Georgie

CurwySwide Mon 12-Sep-11 18:32:08

Georgia - the best by a long way

pointydog Mon 12-Sep-11 18:38:02

I love the sound of Emilia but prefer Amelia. Emilia makes me think of a New Zealander saying Amelia.

DessieLou Mon 12-Sep-11 20:14:38

Lydia, definately! Georgia in second place. smile

PebblesAndWine Mon 12-Sep-11 20:41:07

Lydia

OvO Mon 12-Sep-11 20:44:25

Emilia.

Aphria Mon 12-Sep-11 20:46:09

Love Emilia, like Georgia, dislike Lydia.

GiantUnderCrackers Mon 12-Sep-11 20:51:15

Georgia

Georgia.

Emilia is nice but will be mistaken for Amelia annoying regularly I imagine.

Lydia I just don't like. Seems very unfeminine to me.

I would choose the one that goes best with your surname. If that doesn't help then I like Lydia best.

MelinaM Tue 13-Sep-11 00:28:05

Lydia is lovelysmile

Emilia is nice but fast becoming popular due to the Amelia link. I'm not a fan of Georgia, Georgina is far nicer.

Thanks for the thoughts.

Lydia - 8
Emilia - 4
Georgia - 7

They all sound fine with surname and middle names which have already been decided.

What about if I chuck Louisa into the mix? smile

PootlePosyPerkin Tue 13-Sep-11 10:33:45

I love Louisa but am biased - it's my 5 week old DD's middle name grin.

Dolcegusto Tue 13-Sep-11 10:36:21

I have a Lydia so it gets my vote

brodanbell Tue 13-Sep-11 13:05:46

Louisa - it's just Louise with an a. Very boring compared to the other three, and comes a very far off distant 4th behind Emilia (and I'm not sold on that either!)
