What do you think of the name Freddie?

Love it.

I really like it grin

Might be nice to make it Frederick for birth cert tho.

Also it is becoming increasingly popular - well, there are two in DCs' junior school and another couple at infants. Not in the James/Matthew league but more of them than Albert or Hamish <random>

Love Freddiesmile

I love it too. Think frederick for BC though as Freddie is lovely for a child and a great nn but he may want something more official as an adult.

I like it, but it does sound nicknamey so would use Frederick on birth certificate.

It's great but definitely use Frederick on the cert.

I think all the 'cutey' type trendy boys' names - Freddie, Arche, Alfie, Charlie etc - are going to start to date soon as people tire of them. I think the trend will soon be towards more 'solid' names for boys.

Frederick is nice though.

It's what my dh wants to call our little boy. Frederick is a lovely name.. I'm not to sure about Freddie (it says naughty boy to me- sorry all mums of Freddies! smile) but if you like the contraction why not? It's classic, will never be as common as James or Oliver, nor rare enough to be a hospital pass at school. All good things.

As this is a Freddie post I hope you won't mind me asking a question myself: I'm quite ginger, my husband is far from dark, if our baby is red-headed too dare we call him Fred, or is that too cruel after Harry Potter? hmm
