For a girl. Yes I admit, it's just because of Leighton Meester that the name came up. What do you think? Too masculine or too surnamey? I am expecting a roasting for this one... I think it's sassy though...

Leighton Buzzard

I would not want to be called Leighton.

Very masculine and surnamey.

Not keen at all

It's quite a common boys name here. Not keen on surnames as first names.

It's horrid.

Who is Leighton Buzzard?

I know a 3 year old little girl called Leighton. Is a little like Madison to me, used for boys first and then girls.

Oh sorry, just googled it. It's a place in England. Well that's one connotation that will never come up with me being in Guernsey smile At least that's something smile

I was at school with a Leighton in early 80s - I'd think of it as boy's name too.

Normally wouldn't go for surnames as first names but quite like this one, even though my first thoughts were "surname" and "Buzzard".

Kirstle Fri 09-Sep-11 18:39:48

I guess I just like the 'Ton' sound at the end, cause I also really like Peyton, but my DMum says it's too close to 'Satan'....

EmpressOfTheSevenOceans Fri 09-Sep-11 18:43:45

I admit I'd never heard of Leighton Meester until I looked at your link, as you say people in Guernsey won't make the Buzzard connection - if you like it I'd use it. Are you pronouncing it Lay-ton (which is Buzzard way) or Lee-ton?

Kirstle Fri 09-Sep-11 18:47:20

Lay-ton. Honestly never heard of that Buzzard thing smile What do you guys think of Peyton too?
