What do you think?

Would it be better only as a middle name??

(I know Addams)

I prefer Thursday Wink!

Are you seriously considering it as a name?

Report
sonniebonnie · 07/09/2011 20:48

Actually Saturday is nicer.

This is a joke, no?

Someone on here (can't remember there name) suggested it for us as a mn. I love it DH isn't so keen. As a mn I don't think it is bad at all kind of kooky but in a good way.
Don't think I could do it as a fn though. But at least it is an actual name

their not there sorry

Report
meoddplease · 07/09/2011 21:04

Nope - not a joke, I'm actually serious about it.
DH said it could only go on the shortlist if I asked a load of people what they thought and well you lot are a load of people.

But yes I am serious.

Sorry but I think it's silly. It's what I'd call a Beckham sort of name - trying to be cool but just sounding a bit daft.

Terrible....Sorry as you like it !

Why on earth Wednesday?

I know a lady called Tuesday......it kind of suits her!

Report
BikeRunSki · 07/09/2011 21:15

Possibly if she is born on a Wednesday and you really have no other ideas.

I know a child called Wednesday and if you knew her you would agree it's a no-no. It's the association for me, sorry.

I'm not mad about that kind of name really; what if she's born on a Sunday??

ummmmmmm

Am I allowed to sit on the fence???

On paper and in theory I think it would be really funky and cool (if that doesn't fit with you and your DH i would definatly say not)
But in RL I'm not completely sold.
But if you do, give them a 'normal' other name so they could use that if thy so desire. (because Wednesday splits opinions they may adore it or they may hate you for it - but then that applies to all names I guess)

A very definite no. It's a dreadful name, and quite ridiculous.

I went to school with a Tuesday.

It suited her - nobody batted an eyelid.

She is very high up in Metropolitan police CID now - am sure nobody takes the piss out of her name to her face Grin

Tuesday is much nicer IMO

MrsOzz · 07/09/2011 22:42

Apparently I was almost called Tuesday...

I agree, Tuesday is much better.

Poor thing in Reception trying to learn how to spell Wednesday!

Ruby Tuesday? Smile

I knew a January.

Unless the child is born on a Wednesday, just wrong.

I thought of Wednesday Addams upon seeing the thread title, but I'm sure our children won't make that connection.

i came across a child called wednesday once. the family called her 'day' for short. not keen personally. would prefer tuesday or a name not involving days of week. will she def be born on wednesday (ie are you booked for section on a wednesday?)

Gluttondressedaslamb · 07/09/2011 23:47

How about Friday? Sister for Robinson?
Id hate to be called Wednesday, Ive always thought it`s the most ugly-sounding of all the days of the week.

I went to primary school with a girl called Ness and she had us all absolutely convinced it was short for Wednesday. Imagine our dismay when we found out she was actually called Agnes Grin
