Sort of a non- name thread...

But I find myself getting excited when I see an Eddie Stobbart truck and have to check the name on the front in case I love it...

It's daft because if I find the perfect name am I going to have to tell DD I named her after a lorry I saw on the
Motorway?!

Also every single show I watch ATM I have a pen in hand in case they have a cool name and there is not one F1 drivers name I have not considered. Even Bruno and Fernando!

I'm driving myself crazy!!!

I remember when my mum was in hospital having had me the woman in the bed next to her said she'd chosen her DS's name having looked around a cemetery for inspiration!

I was living outside the Uk when DD was born. DH was next to useless when it came to names, the only one I really liked and he vetoed was Lydia.
I suggested Muscat, Zam Zam, Safia, Qurm and several others. He was very non commital.
I ended up calling DD after the scullery maid in upstairs downstairs. It was on every day at 2.30.
My sister didn't have a name for six weeks. My Dad took matters into his own hands and went to register her. My sister is called after the woman who did the registration.

The chances that a lorry driver's dd or dear old mum is going to have THE name emblazoned on the cab is unlikely but didn't stop me looking
TV credits
Also pg hormones and any Disney film a dangerous combination...Mowgli anyone or Pocahontas?

I constintly look at at end credits too, also I put the name combinations I come up with in google and see how many hits I get, how many facebook accounts there are under that name.

Also find myself looking through plant and flaower books to get a unique name.

I think of my favourite films and tv shows then look them up on IMDB to see the full cast lists for inspiration... actually the name that it looks like we are going to use is a character in Gossip Girl!!

I often look at the names in the 'bereavements' section of the local paper's family announcements... the names there tend to be much nicer than the ones in the 'births' section!

There is a website called Tiny Prints (American website) and they print off cards and invitations etc etc which can be personalised.
Friend and I were looking at it when she was pregnant with DC as she wanted some birth announcements as DC was to be the first and last child. The website has a list of their products with baby names. Her DC is named after one of the birth announcement cards! :)
