These are the names we like. The middle names would not be used everyday but are there for family reasons. Therefore I think I am just seeking opinions on the first name.

Luna Elizabeth Rose
Elizabeth (shortened to Bliss) Rose
Astrid Elizabeth
Nell Elizabeth Rose
Norah Elizabeth Rose

Thanks, open to suggestions too.

Luna Elizabeth Rose - Love!
Elizabeth (shortened to Bliss) Rose - Love nn Bliss not mad about Elizabeth theough
Astrid Elizabeth - maybe a bit too quirky although I like Elizabeth (Bliss) Astrid
Nell Elizabeth Rose - Sorry don't really like Nell!
Norah Elizabeth Rose - Love Norah!

Innes - Lovely!
Noah - as your other names are so unique I think Noah is a bit too common
Idris - not my favourite but still nice
Oisin - Love!
Leo - feel the same about it as I do Noah, although I love it as a nn for Leopold!

Overall favourites are Oisin and Luna or Norah.

Congratulations and good luck!

Hi, I love Nell!! I like it short for Eleanor or Ellen. One of my favourite combos at the moment is Eleanor Primrose....? Really like Elizabeth too. And Rose is gorgeous, but I prefer it as a first name! Luna is also pretty. Not keen on Astrid or Norah.

Innes to me is a surname. Like Noah, Oisin and Leo. Not sure how to pronounce Idris?

MockingbirdsNotForSale Mon 22-Aug-11 22:49:04

I like Astrid and Noah the best.

effingwotnots Mon 22-Aug-11 22:49:57

Nell and Leo are the best names in the world!!!

Italiangreyhound Mon 22-Aug-11 23:35:00

Agree with MockingbirdsNotForSale - Astrid and Noah.

Luna - very pretty but sorry, don't like it a lot as it makes me think of Lunatic.
Elizabeth (shortened to Bliss) nice but not sure you will ensure she is always called Bliss.
Astrid - lovely
Nell - lovely
Norah - sadly not for me, as I remember Last of the summer wine.

Innes - I think it makes me think of a girl's name, but I know it can be either.
Noah - perfect
Idris - not keen
Oisin - not keen
Leo - good name

Let us know what you use, please. Good names.

Luna - not that keen, and think HP (though likeable character)
Bliss - surname
Astrid - OK
Nell - lovely, but would have as nn.
Norah - OK

Innes - also think, girl
Noah - OK
Idris - OK if you have relevant ancestry
Oisin - OK if you have relevant ancestry
Leo - still makes me think "Blair"

Hulababy Tue 23-Aug-11 09:46:12

Of the girls names I like nell, Elizabeth and Rose. Luna is ok. Not keen on Astrid or Norah though.

Boys names - I like Noah best.

InstantAtom Tue 23-Aug-11 10:08:05

Leo or Norah are my favourites smile

Luna - too similar to lunatic
Elizabeth - nice, not keen on Bliss though
Astrid - harsh, dislike the "rid" ending
Nell - too nicknamey, parlourmaid's name
Norah - like smile

Innes - surname
Noah - OK but quite faddy ATM
Idris - don't like
Oisin - don't like
Leo - OK

Thanks for all your input. My DH also thinks Astrid is too harsh. Luna, yes Luna the looney could be a taunt, hmm, that one is my favourite though.

Noah- Again this is my fave for the boys but would really like my childs name to be the only one in his class (blush) as my name is very run of the mill and I was one of 4 in my year at school who had that name. Annoying.

I am glad Norah is not getting a pasting as it is my best back up name.

agathapinchbottom I am really liking the name Agatha now!

I don't really like 'N' names as they are difficult to say with a bad cold. And let's face it, there always soomeone with a cold or a blocked nose around grin

FannyAnnPam Tue 23-Aug-11 16:27:17

I love Bliss as a nn - and Elizabeth if she becomes a top flight lawyer!

Fab names all round, let us know what you choose in the end.

Luna - makes me think of Luna Lovegood from harry potter
Elizabeth (shortened to Bliss) - Bliss sounds a bit like a dodgy actress' name, Elizabeth is nice though - probably my favourite from the list.
Astrid - no, too hard an ending.
Nell - nice, but would you register the baby with the full name Eleanor / Helen. Also, beware of Nelly the elephant if she's chubby.
Norah - I associate this with old ladies, but not so bad since Norah Jones

Innes - no
Noah - nice
Idris - OK but prefer Idwal
Oisin - would spend his life spelling it over the phone
Leo - alright

kelly2000 Wed 24-Aug-11 21:48:18

I like the boy's names, but I did think Innes wasa girls name - sorry.
I think Luna sounds a bit dippy, and if she does not like it she cannot shorten it, there is nothing you can do with Luna. And thanks to HP people might call her looney!
As for Astrid, I actually like the name itself, BUT I know someone horrible with the name and I am very rude about her name. I know it is immature, and I should be ashamed, but she is mean so I call her Arse -skid! I am now hanging my head in shame!

Sofiaintherye Wed 24-Aug-11 21:54:45

I love all the girls names, especially Luna (means moon in Spanish). Re boys I like Noah very much.

gapants Wed 24-Aug-11 22:14:37

Thanks for your input, yes Loony Luna is bearing down on me a bit now.

kelly2000 I was thinking Arse-trid or Bumstrid! Silly. Still i like it. And I really really like Magda, but DH gave it a big fat NO!

kelly2000 Wed 24-Aug-11 23:01:28

Sorry - I know it is immature, it is a really nice name. I realy like Magda too
