I like it a lot. We pondered this and Carrie for dd1. Maybe Cassandra with Cassie as nn?

Terrible name. Dreadful. Don't use it.

(I have one, I lobe the name (full name Catherine) and don't want it getting too popular wink)

Obv I LOVE it. I don't lobe it.

Very nice, as nickname for Cassandra or Cassia.

redglow Wed 17-Aug-11 18:59:29

Ilove this name. Its really different and not popular.

sassyTHEFIRST Wed 17-Aug-11 19:00:23

That's why we went Catherine. Fools and HOrses "Cassarn-dra" and also, the original (Greek) Cassandra was a prophetess of doom. Thought that was a bit heavy to lay on a newborn.

Cassia is nice too.

I really like Cassandra but everyone on here did Rodney impressions when I mentioned it. I do like OFH though so not too sure it's a problem smile

I love Cassie, but have rejected it from my shortlist as I dislike Cassandra, yet personally don't feel Cassie is a bc name.

How do you pronounce Cassia?

pointydog Wed 17-Aug-11 19:33:41

Lovely name.

I never watched OFAH so the name has no connotations.

mammyemcbe Wed 17-Aug-11 19:56:32

Love itgrin I like Cassidy as a first name with cassie as a NN but dh is not keen on surnames as first name sad

I quite like Cassie (which my keyboard just tried to turn into "Cassis" if that helps as another variation) as I was rather fond of an aged great aunt with that name. blush to say I never knew if it was short for anything.

Currently, I know a lot of ponies called Cassie.

tammytoby Wed 17-Aug-11 21:19:54

I like Cassie and Cassia - both lovely and not overused.

sahara13 Wed 17-Aug-11 21:27:33

I used to have a pony called Cassie! Lovely name though.

This was my favourite choice for a girl (we have just had a boy). We were planning it as a nickname for Cassia, which we pronounce Cassie-ah - I think you can also pronounce it like Kesh-ah or something like that.
I love Cassie, it's not that common but everyone knows it. But regarding the ponies called Cassie I have to admit it was the name of my much loved childhood pet - not that it put me off.

muminthemiddle Thu 18-Aug-11 00:10:15

I think of it as a dogs name, sorry.

BuntyPenfold Thu 18-Aug-11 09:08:34

I only know one Cassie; he's a boy.

bittentothequick Thu 18-Aug-11 19:01:52

I like it a lot. smile
