Irish girls' names - help!

Hi all

I'm looking for an Irish girls name. Trouble is, the websites I've been searching for Irish names only seem to have a handful, and I'm sure there must be LOADS.

I'm not worried about the dodgy spellings - DP is from an Irish family so we can get away with Irish names and their idiosyncrasies! (And no, I don't want to ask the family - I want it to be a surprise.)

Saoirse (pronounced seer-sha) is a lovely name, but might be a little too hard for UK people to spell / pronounce. There's also Cara (which means 'friend' and is pronounced as its spelt) and Aisling (ashling).

Ironically 'Irish' baby names seem to have gone a bit out of fashion again in Ireland after being hugely popular in the 90s. PS Just to confuse things some Irish names are pronounced differently by differently Irish people! I would always pronounce caoimhe 'kweeva' but other people pronounce it 'keeva' etc etc.

Typically, all the other names I like begin with A, which would mean if I chose another A there would be three females with initial A in the immediate family!
