My youngest DS is 2, Is it too late to give him a middle name or is it easy to do?

Deed Poll job, very easy to do.

Would passport have to be changed at the same time?

It's easier than you think to change a name.

And yes, if you change it everything has to change, a person must have one consistant name in use, using 2 slightly different ones can lead to a lot of bother.

Thanks for info smile
I wish i did it at the beginning but DH was not keen on middle names.

The one thing to think of though, is that your son will have to present his Deed Poll certificate with his birth certificate for any ID he gets in the future (think Driving Licence) but that's actually no serious bother if you are the sort of Mum who can manage to keep important documents together somewhere they can be found.

Doing this could not be easier via the online UK Deed Poll Service. My 6 year old daughter finally got a middle name this week! Literally took a few days and cost hardly anything! Am SO pleased we did it! http://www.ukdps.co.uk/AddingAMiddleName.html

burcham12 - Great! thanks for that
Good to see that i'm not the only one out there adding a middle name at a later stage.

No you are definitely not alone! Having done this, I now really feel like something has finally been put to rest! Am sure you'll feel the same!
