Sorry, it's another help I don't like any boys names thread Smile

So the criteria is - A name you've heard of but isn't often used these days.

We want to stay away from anything he (if it is a he!) would be picked on for (DH had a hard time at school with his name)

I only really like one name so far, which is Dexter, but DH is having a hard time coming round to it as he just thinks serial killer when he hears it!

We have a DD already called Faye, and so would like to avoid another one sylable name if possible.

Does anyone have any suggestions? Thank you!!

Felix or is that too much like a cat's name? I wanted it for ds but dh vetoed saying everyone would say it was a cat's name.

FWIW, I don't think everyone would associate Dexter with a serial killer because a) the series isn't that widely watched and b) in say 10 years time no one will remember the tv series.

I also really like Wilfred.

I love the name Faye.

How about Louis? It's not unknown but you don't hear it all the time.

Thanks! Some fab suggestions.
I can't have Felix as my best friend's son is a (lovely) Felix
Louos, Paul, Michael and Stephen also fab but already in the family!
I love Noah, but it's quite popular isn't it?
Dylan, Cassius and Maxwell have been been vetoed by DH (fussy sod!)
He is considering Seth (even though it's one sylable, it's lovely Smile )

I know a couple of little Dexters so it doesn't seem that unusual to me.

I really like Wilfred, or Eli (ee-lie), Elijah, Eoin (owen).

I like Wilfred too. Or Alfred. Sebastian seems to have gone out of favour too.
Seth is quite cool. We know a 5yr old Seth and he really suits it. DS, who is 7 also has a Stan in his class. Or what about John? I know it's only one syllable but we only know one child called John and he is known as Jonny which DH always really likes. Im pregnant with No4 and we have a DS and 2DDs. I think this one's another boy but no sure. I won't let DH have Jonny though as DS is James and I think theyre too similar. Why is it so hard? The girls were easy to name.

Dexter is in the top 100 for 2010, probably because of that programme. So it fails on the 'not often used' requirement.

I you scroll towards the bottom of the table (i.e. past the top 100 names) you'll find lots of underused lovely names.
