Petra? Kiki? Zara?

Ok, following on from the gutting news that my current face girls name Vita is about to become a Play Station console :-() what do you think of...

Zara?
Kiki?

Petra was a Blue Peter dog, and the only one to have statue erected.

Kiki is the frog in Hector's house (ZsaZsa -nearly Zara - was the cat, which is why the three names together put me in happy reminiscence).

Vita the name will outlive vita the playstation, BTW.

I do like Petra, I like pronounceable but unusual names. Kiki too but worry it might be a bit babyish or informal for adulthood?

Zara is DH's suggestion, which I do like, but would have been better received if we weren't watching Zara Philips' wedding coverage at the time! Also is it a bit like calling your baby Top Shop to today's generation?!

My DD is isn't Kiki as a nickname, I'm not hugely keen but it's OK.

I have a lovely cousin called Petra who I saw this week for the first time in 10 years and she's as great as ever. But over here in Germany they pronounce it Paytra, which I personally prefer.

Zara is my favourite of the three names.

In German Petra is pronounced Peh (long e sound)-tra. It is an e sound, not ay. I like it.

Kiki is a little babyish and Zara a little 'trendy' and may date more.

Petra is a bit 'wanted a boy'.

Zara is nice -- but I would use Vita despite the game console.

My nn when I was little was Kiki becuase I could imitate the frog in Hector's House - I am not sure I would like to be an adult Kiki though

Zara is the nicest there. Petra reminds me of a dog for some reason. An alsatian. Or a petri dish. What was the other one? Kiki? oh cute nick namebut put Katherine on the bc perhaps.

I have a Zara and it really suits her. If meaning is important, I've come across 'brightness of dawn' and 'splendour of flowers'. Shops and newly-married prinesses rarely come up although is sometimes heard as Sara.

Actually we know a 14 year old gorgeous Vita - it really suits her. She'll have stick won't she when the game comes out?

But the others are right a baby Vita will outlive the console, which will probably be defunct by the time she is 2.
