I like it as a nn thought. I have a friend who is Lee but has always been called Leroy.

It works for him, but it's definatly a name that you have to 'fit'

Leroy sounds a character from either Lenny Henry in the 1980s or The Fresh Prince of Bel Air. Fancy calling your son 'the king'! Won't be to many people's taste.

I went out with a Leroy. Everyone I knew used to piss themselves at his name as he was so not a Leroy!
