Lochan reminds me of Lochia I'm afraid - is it a real name?

Of the two I'd go for Jackson.

lynn7300 Fri 22-Jul-11 18:54:50

ment to put lochlan lol......jackson is my choice!!! so hope that wins :-))

SpottyFrock Fri 22-Jul-11 18:56:21

I've never heard lochan. Is it a version of lochlan? I have taught 2 lochlans though I think in Scotland they spell it lachlan as do the Australians.

Jackson ok though!

GwendolineMaryLacey Fri 22-Jul-11 18:57:40

Lochlan/Lachlan by a mile.

RitaMorgan Fri 22-Jul-11 18:57:46

Jackson is still nicer.

LynetteScavo Fri 22-Jul-11 18:57:57

Just to complecate things....Lochlan.

Jackson trips off the tongue more easily than Lochan.

yes ment to put lochlan....i prefer it spelt like that rather than lachlan

Doozie Fri 22-Jul-11 19:07:32

Definitely Lachlan - sorry prefer that spelling too.

Unless Jackson is the son of Jack? Or if you have a link to the surname?

pointydog Fri 22-Jul-11 19:09:11

Lachlan

SpottyFrock Fri 22-Jul-11 19:17:14

I think I would spell it Lachlan as it's a Scottish name and that's how they spell it but as I say, I have seen it spelt lochlan. It's definitely nicer than Jackson but Jackson isn't too bad compared to other surnames used as forenames.

Moanna Fri 22-Jul-11 19:22:51

DS is Lochlann (Irish) which I do prefer to Jackson.

ensure Fri 22-Jul-11 19:42:27

I prefer Jackson.

musttidyupmusttidyup Fri 22-Jul-11 19:47:10

If you choose Lachlan spell Luke this nit loch an which reminds me too of lochia. Sorry. Also can shorten Jack but prob not Lac? So, Jackson.

musttidyupmusttidyup Fri 22-Jul-11 19:47:49

SheCutOffTheirTails Fri 22-Jul-11 19:51:15

ImpyCelyn Fri 22-Jul-11 19:56:13

Lochlan - so much better than Jackson.

susiedaisy Fri 22-Jul-11 19:58:07

Lachlan, although I have also seen it spelt lachlain, not keen on Jackson

jellybeans Fri 22-Jul-11 20:28:44

PaperBank Fri 22-Jul-11 20:34:15

roguepixie Fri 22-Jul-11 20:34:58
