Which do you prefer?

PfftTheMagicDragonhideGloves Wed 20-Jul-11 13:14:48

It's a name mash-up! A RL version of Glee!

I prefer Samous and Thomuel

BelleEnd Wed 20-Jul-11 13:15:39

I prefer 'or'

allhailtheaubergine Wed 20-Jul-11 13:16:44

I keep seeing Maddex in Baby Names.

Surely you mean Maddox?

HoneyPablo Wed 20-Jul-11 13:16:56

I quite like Maxdex

LovelyDaffs Wed 20-Jul-11 13:17:01

Agree with Belle

Noleen Wed 20-Jul-11 13:17:50

No, Maddex. It's a better version of Maddox I think

HoneyPablo Wed 20-Jul-11 13:19:25

Better? In what way?

coccyx Wed 20-Jul-11 13:20:08

both ridiculous, awful and too contrived

suzikettles Wed 20-Jul-11 13:21:10

It sounds industrial somehow. A cleaner? Solvent?

Noleen Wed 20-Jul-11 13:21:25

I personally think the pronunciation is better don't you?

Noleen Wed 20-Jul-11 13:21:59

why contrived?

allhailtheaubergine Wed 20-Jul-11 13:23:02

It sounds like a parcel delivery service.

Or depression medication.

WhipMeIndiana Wed 20-Jul-11 13:23:25

max - lovely
maddox - bit chavvy
maddex is like a painkiller

HoneyPablo Wed 20-Jul-11 13:24:33

So we like Max, but Maddex does sound like a painkiller.
How about Madmax?

Noleen Wed 20-Jul-11 13:24:39

But they're different and unique don't you think? A change from the norm or should I say the Yawn!

Noleen Wed 20-Jul-11 13:25:39

Oh, you see, I'm South African and I never thought of the chavvy thing. Ahh, I think I get it now! It is a bit.

OriginalPoster Wed 20-Jul-11 13:25:44

I don't normally say this, but neither. Is it for a girl or boy? Have you considered using them as middle names?

Maddex is pronounced Madd ex in my head. Presumably you're pronouncing it the same as Maddox but spelled wrong?

QueenOfFeckingEverything Wed 20-Jul-11 13:26:45

Noleen - you clearly have no intention of listening to what anyone says so why bother asking? How many threads now??

HoneyPablo Wed 20-Jul-11 13:26:45

How about you take the first part of the baby's dad's name and the second part of your name?

Noleen Wed 20-Jul-11 13:30:21

I know I know QueenofFeckingEverything but I'm so confused and I think I'm confusing myself more and more. I just wanted to understand why the Brits don't seem to like the name (as I'm South African) and now I think I get it. I never thought of them as chavvy. Thanks for your help everyone :-)

tummytickler Wed 20-Jul-11 13:46:11

Neither. Both awful.

MamaLazarou Wed 20-Jul-11 19:38:42

I've never heard Maxton - quite like it.

Maddex looks silly - like Maddox mis-spelt. Sorry.

PotterWatch Wed 20-Jul-11 19:39:53

How ridiculous.
