Hello- new on here so hope I get things right.
Expecting twin DD in November; been thinking of names to go with DH surname- Fabrice (pronownced Fab ree chay).
What do you think of Taffeta and Gingham? I have loved these names for ages.
Any ideas for middle names?

whorecrux Sat 16-Jul-11 23:31:03

Oh yes, if you love them go for themsmile
How about

Taffeta Velour and Gingham Sateen

or , with a similar vibe,
Velvet Tulle and Damask Voile

MelinaM Sat 16-Jul-11 23:33:42

I think Taffeta Lace has a certain ring to itgrin ...or even Taffeta Silk

As for Gingham, well, Sateen or Plisse fit the bill nicelywink

prudaloo Sat 16-Jul-11 23:38:41

I love Taffeta Silk!!!!
Is "Plisse" a name though? confused

Polyester Acrylic and Lycra Nylon

Although these are lovely I much prefer Velveteen and Rayon.

CandiceMariePratt Sun 17-Jul-11 10:49:47

Polly-Esther would be lovely for one of them

MardyBra Sun 17-Jul-11 10:57:05

Brentford and nylon?

MelinaM Sun 17-Jul-11 11:20:25

Plisse is french, tres chic! grin

PaperBank Sun 17-Jul-11 12:45:32

Surely Cambric and Hessian are due a comeback?

fairieswearboots Sun 17-Jul-11 15:35:07

Love Hessian!wink
Also how about Calico and D'Nim

prudaloo Sun 17-Jul-11 15:36:10

Plisse is French??? WOW, I'll have to use that!
Will deffo go for Taffeta Silk Fabrice- sounds lovely, thanks MelinaM!
Toying with Gingham Plisse Fabrice- it goes with the French oregins of the surname, I think smile

feckwit Sun 17-Jul-11 15:38:32

I actually met sisters once called Taffeta and Organza!

prudaloo Sun 17-Jul-11 19:03:27

feckwit-noooo, someone got in before me? Sooooooooooooooooo unfair, I have wanted Taffeta for ages!
Don't like Organiza as much- sounds like Organiser grin
Hessian is more for a boy, fairies, dontcha think? It's like a Cossack name IMO.

MelinaM Sun 17-Jul-11 19:07:05

Chantilly, Chiffon and Tulle are also amongst my favouriteswink

prudaloo Sun 17-Jul-11 19:44:23

Tulle??
Isn't it spelt Tallula? confused

fairieswearboots Sun 17-Jul-11 21:10:01

Hmm,prudaloo, sort of see what you mean - Hessian does have a touch of the masculine about it. But wouldn't it be smashing for an earthy, robust ,hard-working sort of a gel? Think i would go for something like Tweed, or Worsted for a lad; had you picked any boys names?

prudaloo Sun 17-Jul-11 21:16:03

OOh YES!
We had twin boy names before we found it was girls!!
Were thinking Nankeen and Barathea!
Didn't get to the second names though!

fairieswearboots Sun 17-Jul-11 21:19:13

Those are fabulous!

fairieswearboots Sun 17-Jul-11 21:22:48

Cant help but think of middle names now even tho hypothetical

Nankeen Serge
Barathea Twill

Belltatrix Sun 17-Jul-11 21:25:56

Taffeta Chlamydia and Gingham Chardonnay for girls
Worsted Rough and Pinstripe Pencil for boys .
Quite pleased with that...

prudaloo Sun 17-Jul-11 21:27:04

Nankeen Serge Fabrice smile I looooooooove it!

prudaloo Sun 17-Jul-11 21:28:59

Bellatrix; whisper"chlamidyia is NOT a nice name, y'know"

Rhubarbgarden Sun 17-Jul-11 22:56:19

No no no. For boys it would have to be Mungo and Shoddy.

prudaloo Sun 17-Jul-11 23:29:12
