Neither

neither, but if I had to choose I'd go for Erica. She sounds like shed grow up to be fun. Clara sounds a bit wet. To me.

Clara - love it. Erica is really Not My Bag.

Hedwig3 Tue 12-Jul-11 13:53:30

Clara is lovely.

Clara

Erica is more classic and not as 'fashionable' as Clara is at the moment.

Ephiny Tue 12-Jul-11 14:31:18

Clara is much nicer, didn't know it had become fashionable though. Erica just sounds too much like Eric, which is ugly IMO

IsItMeOr Tue 12-Jul-11 15:15:05

Isn't Clara the drippy one in Heidi?

Neither is my considered opinion though.

Aphria Tue 12-Jul-11 15:31:09

Thanks for the feedback. I feel the same about Erica sounding more masculine (DH really likes it though).
I'm Scottish living in Ireland and on an Irish site Clara won hands down, but it's also a place in Ireland so it would be more popular over here. Clara is 94 on last year's stats here and Erica doesn't feature. Neither feature in the top 100 in England & Wales so neither if them are fashionable.
Think I might be winning DH round. After having 2 boys I thought a girl would be much easier!

minipie Tue 12-Jul-11 18:35:02

Clara. (not keen on girls' names which are feminised boys' names)

But I'd go for Cara instead.

oohlaalaa Tue 12-Jul-11 18:36:48

Erica

oohlaalaa Tue 12-Jul-11 18:37:07

Also like Cara and Lara, but not Clara

Ihavewelliesbuttheyrenotgreen Tue 12-Jul-11 18:37:39

Erica- Its unusual yet still a proper name iyswim. Its quite cool and I reckon it will become quite popular in a few years time so you will be ahead of the curve. I don't think that it is too musculine, no more so than Leah, Georgia or Philipa which are all popular.

Ivortheengine8 Tue 12-Jul-11 18:38:44

Clara. Not a fan of Erica. smile

Bandwithering Tue 12-Jul-11 18:46:45

Easy.

Clara by a sea mile.

Bandwithering Tue 12-Jul-11 18:48:22

Aphria, I wouldn't worry about Clara Laragh. You could call your next child Anna Livia. What lovely names! grin

When I hear the name Clara I don't think of it as being a place too.

Aphria Tue 12-Jul-11 19:57:50

Ha ha, it wasn't Clara Lara I was thinking of, it's actually a town in Offaly too!
