hmmmm..... none would be on my list i'm afraid...

PaperBank · 11/07/2011 22:23

I like Edward and Miles best from your list :)

How about Felix, William, Alexander, Frederick, Leonard, Charles, Sidney, Liam, Nathaniel, Max, Walter, Sebastian, Lawrence?

threecurrantbuns · 11/07/2011 22:28

Well also thought of Walter and rupert? I'm drawn to Felix but makes me think cat, would need to go with my ds's name which is Hugo

Lloyd or Floyd?

OP posts:
PaperBank · 11/07/2011 22:33

Lloyd is quite nice. Floyd might well get Pink Floyd jokes.

skinnychai · 12/07/2011 07:20

I really like Monty from your list.

Rhubarbgarden · 12/07/2011 07:31

Austin and Edward are nice names. I don't like the others.

Hedwig3 · 12/07/2011 09:29

I like Austin and Miles.

How about:

Jonty
Sebastian
Henry
Louis
Rafe
Rafferty
Magnus
Hugh

WaitingForBabyD · 12/07/2011 10:03

I know exactly what you mean. My DH and I are really struggling to find a boy?s name, there are a few we like but nothing feels like ?the one? or at least nothing we can agree on. If it helps here is our list:

Jude
Ralph
Noah
Elliot
Angus
Ethan
Oscar
Toby

Hedwig3 · 12/07/2011 10:17

...Laurence/Laurie?

sonniebonnie · 12/07/2011 10:42

I like Austin and Montgomery (Monty).

Miles is the plural of Mile, like calling your child Kilometres (unless you're not in the UK where Miles are still used).

How about Quentin (Quinn) or Thaddeus?

evamummy · 12/07/2011 10:49

I know brothers Hugo, Quentin & Thomas.

Also like Austin and Monty from your list.

pilates · 12/07/2011 10:52

Monty I think and sounds best with Hugo.

IxnayOnTheIbblerQuay · 12/07/2011 12:18

I think Hugo and Austin sound good together.

aStarInStrangeways · 12/07/2011 12:19

Aubrey?

threecurrantbuns · 12/07/2011 12:52

Thanks all, ive decided Ralph is a no go being as one of the children as dds school calls our Hugo, Hugo Boss! so could end up at school as Hugo Boss and Ralph Lauren lol not somethin i thought of with Hugo although i adore his name so dont think it would have put me off!

Think the ones i like best atm are Monty, Austin and Edward. I like classic names but feel like Edward isnt different enough also like Harry but very popular and not sure about Hugo and Harry?? Same with Humphrey, i love it but not sure if its too way out and would they get callet humph!?

Like Rupert but will it just get associated with the bear!? Or get called Roo!?

I dont know its so difficult.

New list would be

Harry
Monty
Austin (not sure if this sounds slightly female)
Humphrey
Edward
Rupert...

I also have Grace, Daisy...not sure if that makes a diff, so if we have a boy would be, Grace, Daisy, Hugo and ?

OP posts:
minipie · 12/07/2011 12:57

Austin and Edward would be my favourites. Rupert not bad (quite posh but then so is Hugo). Harry is ok but not ideal with Hugo.

(There's also Edwin, Edmund or Edgar if you want something a bit different).

Monty and Humphrey are fat middle aged uncle names IMO.

Grace, Daisy, Hugo and Austin
Grace, Daisy, Hugo and Edward
Grace, Daisy, Hugo and Rupert

all good

happywheezer · 12/07/2011 13:05

I love your names. I'M a bit biased but I love Hugo and Edward as I have those myself.
Our bulldog was called Monty, but it's still a great name. We have a Miles too.
What about Felix, heard a little boy being called that this week, very cute.
Wibur
Wilf
Toby
Raphael
Jasper
Milo
Albie
Bertie
Herbie
Your names are great though!

threecurrantbuns · 12/07/2011 13:24

Yes def liking Ausitn, Rupert and Edward think Edward has less teasing options? Dh just said he likes Austin but makes him think of Ausitn Powers.

Would love to find something from my list or simialr that will still be acceptable to them once teenagers. I love Hugo now and think its also quite a good teen name.

Hugo and Austin or Rupert go very well. Also like Austin and Quentin.

Edward is dull imo.

threecurrantbuns · 12/07/2011 15:52

Feel like I'm starting to like Rupert quite alot now. Bit different from the rest I like James to but that is my Hugo's middle name.

OP posts:
happywheezer · 12/07/2011 15:55

Rupert is great.
Thanks Currantbuns! I agree James is a middle name but a lovely name.
