The stoned rabbit in The Magic Roundabout.

That's not necessarily a bad thing, of course.

i have one and love it!

when i was preg with ds3, ds2 INSISTED i was having a rabbit and not a baby! and then when he was born he just was a Dylan, he gets called Deeby a lot or deebystar :)

the rabbit is spelt Dillan btw.

and Dylan is the welsh way of spelling it and therefore it should be pronounced Dullan? there was a thread about it... we dont pronounce it the welsh way.

Lovely name. I'd have it but it's been vetoed by DH.
I know a few of all ages, and most of them were called it in homage to Bob!

Love it.
I think of it as a boys name.
Don't think I've heard of it as a girls name before, but it's a lovely name for a girl too. I would assume Dylan was male though if I wasn't told otherwise.

Dylan for a boy sounds lovely! I read somewhere it means runt of litter.

Also love it! Ours gets called dyl, dyls, dilly etc as well which really suits him. When I chose it was quite unusual ( round here, southeast) so I was a bit annoyed when it shot up the name charts, but still, he is the only one in his class, one other in school, don't know any others, tho hear it a bit out and about in the park etc. I actually think now it is quite a nice happy medium boys name, not so unusual that you have to spell it/explain it all the time, but theres unlikely to be another in his class etc ( unless youre in Wales I guess! ). Also, round here, the welsh association has gone I think so you won't get people assuming hens welsh.

Everyone used to mention the stoned rabbit thing when I was pregnant with him which i used to think was really silly as a it's spent different and b Boone any younger than us will ever hve heard of the magic roundabout.

Ours also a bob thing! Via my father who was a big fan and died before he was born. Bob apparently got it from Dylan Thomas soothe welsh connection is still there which I think is quite nice, even though I am not welsh. All the book I have seen say it means son of the sea.

oh and i have occasionally watched an american show with a family with a girl and then quints and one of their girls is called Dylan, not sure if they spell it that way tho. but i too would think of it as a boys name generally but i think in america it is quite often a girls name?

DS was going to be a Dylan until I picked up a trashy magazine and both the real life stories ("tearaway families" type thing) had a protagonist child called Dylan. Two in one issue!
