We were thinking of this name for our LO, but we recently went out for lunch with some friends and they started laughing about how another friend of theirs had called their LO this and how ridiculous it was?! Hmm

DH and I just looked at each other at the time, but can't wait to see their faces when we tell them that we have chosen this name ourselves!

Not sure what they thought was so funny...? Any ideas? Don't want to give our LO a name that everyone thinks is ridiculous!

It's not the worst name in the world but it's a bit posh and unfortunately it rhymes with doofus.

Whats wrong with posh? A person can make of a name whatever he/she wants, in other words just because a name has 'historically' been used by 'posh' people, it doesn't mean it can't be used by 'normal' people, does it?

It just reminds me of someone's dog called Rufus.

My cat is called Rufus and he is an apricot pointed colour. Its an OK name but I can't help but associate it with my cat!
