Which one? Honest opinions pls.

belgo Fri 24-Jun-11 14:20:39

Adele. Lovely name. Gabrielle also pretty.

noddyholder Fri 24-Jun-11 14:21:02

I like Nina

belgo Fri 24-Jun-11 14:21:23

And I've deliberately put 'e' on the end inside of 'a', I find the names less sickly sweet with 'e'.

pinkhebe Fri 24-Jun-11 14:21:26

love Adele

BeautifulBlondePineapple Fri 24-Jun-11 14:21:36

I like Nina the best. It's cute for a baby, but also suitable for a grown up. Lovely.

I would've thought about using it myself, but my sister has bagsied it (damn her!).

Hedwig3 Fri 24-Jun-11 14:27:16

Nina

I like Nina the best too - it's simple but lovely. And makes me think of Nina Simone (which is a good thing).

Like some others I think some names can seem fussy with the 'a' rather than 'e'. Not that I'm suggesting 'Nine'!

Which one for Clara's sister?

pinkhebe Fri 24-Jun-11 15:51:38

Actually I like Clara and Helen.

pilates Fri 24-Jun-11 15:52:13

Helena, don't like the rest.

PurpleStrawberry Fri 24-Jun-11 16:03:30

Helena for me.

Nina is the Spanish word for girl, so as a Spanish speaker, I see a girl named Nina as a girl called Girl!!!!

belgo Fri 24-Jun-11 16:17:05

grin at 'Nine'

Hope88 Fri 24-Jun-11 19:06:39

Helena

boxofbugs Fri 24-Jun-11 19:11:46

Nina. It is a lovely name. It also goes well with Clara.

CaptainBizarro Fri 24-Jun-11 19:57:34

Helena - no contest.

Lonnie Fri 24-Jun-11 20:16:53

Adela is beautiful I do not however care for Adele.

How do you want to say Helena? I like it if it is not Hell ena

Dont mind Nina but find it very humdrum
Gabriella is to popular for me

GwendolineMaryLacey Fri 24-Jun-11 20:18:32

Helena by a mile, pronounced Hell-ena. Hel-ay-na is awful and a waste of a beautiful name.

elseIlltellyourfather Fri 24-Jun-11 20:51:47

Adele, on my shortlist! Adela has a different feel to it and loses the lovely-ness IMO

mathanxiety Fri 24-Jun-11 21:00:13

Helena, no matter what way you pronounce it. Adela comes in second, but not a close second.

I wouldn't choose the other two.

evalen Fri 24-Jun-11 22:44:51

thanks for the comments smile
Clara's name has proven to be a real head turner and i would hate the other one not to be as popular. Do you think Helena (^Hell-ena^) has the 'wow' factor?

MelinaM Sat 25-Jun-11 00:18:22

Helena, it's lovely, as is the nn Nellsmile

mathanxiety Sat 25-Jun-11 01:29:21

I think Hell-ena definitely has the WOW factor. It is such a graceful name, yet strong, like Clara -- but definitely able to stand on its own beside Clara.

GwendolineMaryLacey Sat 25-Jun-11 02:39:37

Definitely. I would use it in a heartbeat but it's my boss's name and, lovely though she is I'm not up for that level of crawling! grin

Gabriella is by far the nicest.
