Hello. I'm kind of hoping this baby will be a boy as we have a name sorted. to be prepared for a girl! We've narrowed it down to the following shortlist and I can't decide:

Cara - Our surname has an "a" sound in it, so it sound a bit repetitive
Celia - a bit too old fashioned?
Ines - my fav, but is it too Spanish? (we're Scottish)
Penny - DH's fave, but sounds like a nickname and don't like Penelope
Rosa - similar to DH's name

Surname has 2 syllables and begins with an M.

What do you think of those? Any other suggestions of names (not top 20 popular ones though...) would be most welcome!

Oh, I also like Annika, but does it make you think of Rice?

I like them all except Rosa, which I don't think would sound great with your sur name.

I prefer Clara to Cara but Cara means friend in irish, think it means the same in scots gaelic?
I love Celia (and Delia actually, but - cumunnnnnnnnnnletssssssssssssssbeee avinya) I sstill like Delia though. Due a come back definitely.

Rosa is my favourite out of your list.

I prefer Clara to Cara.

I like Penny (but only with Penelope as full name and know you're not keen). Also like Cara (but not sure about it with your surname) and Rosa. Not keen on Ines or Celia, although I like Cecilia.

How about Serena, Lara, Elise, Juliet, Ivy, Coralie, Iona, Lydia?

Yes, Annika/Anneka = Rice. How about Adela, Annette, Anneliese?
