It isn't pronounced ah-NER-ee-ah, like "gonorrhea", but ah-NORE-ee-ah, with a heavy NORE sound like in "Eleanor" or "Nora".

Some of the comments above are hilarious! Particularly given how popular Honor has become recently.

It is my mum's name. It is pronounced 'On-or-eea' and has traditionally been the long-form of Honor. It is also often shortened to Nora. I had a great aunt who had that variant.

I fidn it interesting that people will no listen to the pronounciation and yet recently we had a thread on how to say Aoife and posters were telling the OP that it could never be I-fa...

as it is I am not pregnant but I actually think this is beautiful and that surprised me as I do no at all care for Honor I find it harsh and unplesant
