Grin - are they twins?

No Way! Unless your surname is Skywalker......

What should pop to mind - they're both names that happen to start with an L...? Don't think they're that similar. (Don't like either personally but that wasn't your question Smile)

Not a fan of using the same letter for siblings, it's a bit matchy.

Star Wars pops instantly to mind...

Leah was my only girls name choice when I was pg with DS and as someone who never watched Star Wars,it didn't cross my mind when we chose Luke, that this would have an impact on Leah as a choice next time around.

DH,who was a Star Wars watcher says it doesn't matter,I'm not so sure!

I'm not sure the Star Wars thing is necessarily a problem, but it is likely to be mentioned to you so if you want to use your preferred name you probably just need to be prepared!

And I know not everyone is a Star Wars fan (I certainly am not!) but they are really iconic films so I don't think you will ever escape it.

Star Wars of course. It's not a very nice name either imho.

Personally I was put off Leah as I do not like the meaning of the name Leah (depends on whether the meanings of names matter to you though).

Isn't it Leia in star wars anyway?

Like both names but maybe would not use both for reasons mentioned. Not most outrageous combination ever though, and it is not as if they will always be referred to together for very long, not once they are adults.

you're right oldde it is Leia but Leah is so close it feels the same.

I have a Luke, When he was in hospital the little girl in the bed next to him was a Leah and everyone made Star Wars comments.
I think you will get a lifetime of 'are you a Star Wars fan then?"

Not sure. How about Chewbacca?

I know a pair with these names (not twins). Only see them once or twice a year, so I always get mixed up and call him Lee.

I know a brother and sister Luke and Leah. I never thought of the Star Wars connection :-0 (... though I am not a great fan of matching initials)

I always wanted Luke and Leia for my children. Husband vetoed them.

Another one who instantly thought "Star Wars"...sorry.

Individually they're lovely names. But the matching pair definitely make me think of the Skywalkers.

And as other posters have said, they are utterly iconic films, so it's not as if it will just be a few hard-core fanboys who'll think it.

Sorry again...

Yeah, Star Wars. But only because my DH actually wanted to name our DS2 Luke & our future DD Leah because of Star Wars. I am married to a film geek Blush.

Sorry I'm afraid I instantly thought Star Wars. What about Louisa instead?

Star Wars. But like both names. I knew siblings Luke and Lucy when I was at school. I always wondered, had Lucy (the younger sibling) been a boy whether the parents would have used the name Luke again...
