Versions of Catherine

I have a niece with Catrin as a middle name (welsh/Gaelic version)
A cousin called Kathleen (one of many irish versions) as a first name - gets called Kate
And another cousin whose daughter is just Catherine.

It's after an aunt who died when we were all children, (my mams little sister)

Want to include a version of it as a middle name, but not one that is already used.
And is obviously a version of Catherine

Any ideas??

(Why not one that's already used, especially as you're having it as middle name?)

Catriona, Ceit, Katerina, Kasia (emphasis on the i, think this is Polish), Kathryn, Katherine, Katharine, Rina, Catherina, Katherina, Catalina.

Kitty? Catrina? Cathy? Katya?

But I agree you could just use Catherine, lovely name & I think shared family middle names are nice

SORNedWomen - I want it to be obvious it's after my aunt not them, and I wouldn't dream of taking Catherine off my cousin, that's his mam.

Thanks

Could you ask your cousin? He may think it would be nice to use Catherine as a middle name.

Katia / Katya?

Tis what my mum calls my Katherine. Her brother calls her Kath (pronounced Kaf), but thats another story... I call her Kit, but we're into nicknames there, not proper names I guess.

Baby name wizard suggests
Names related to Katherine: Catalina, Catherine, Karen, Katarina, Kate, Katerina, Katharine, Kathryn, Kathy, Katia, Katie, Katrina, Kay

I suppose, part of me would feel like I was stealing though.
It's also that I have Caitin as my middle name (after her, when she was still alive though) So part of me thinks it would be nice is she (DD2) had the same sort of thing - just a vesion of it.
Also DD1 middle name is named after my sister - her actual name.

DP doesn't like the idea of having the 2 of them with middle names exactly the same as the person they are named after.

Thanks

I thought middle names were supposed to be the same as the people they are named after Confused

Mum has 2 MNs, one of which is Catherine. She called me Katherine so as not to look as though I was named after her MN!

My name is Kathryn, as my mother liked the modern spelling. My Grandma was known as Kathleen (or Kath, although on her birth certificate she was actually registered as Katherine). Incidentl, my MIL is a Catherine, whilst in Germany my name is spelt Katrin or Kathrin.

Good luck on the spelling!
