Which nickname do you prefer

Our ds, almost 3 months now, is called Quentin Charles.

We've all been calling him lots different names - Quen, Quenny, Quinn, Quinny, Charlie and Quentin. DH likes Quinn whereas I prefer Quentin and dd loves Charlie (from Charlie & Lola), so I thought I'd ask whether you had any strong views as to which nickname to 'encourage' ?

With time you'll find that one nn is used over the others. I don't think you can choose a nn, it's normally something that comes naturally, that's the whole point, otherwise it's just another name

Quinn is a bit too similar to quim imo.

Thanks all. Tinny is cute - hadn't thought of that. Q is cool too but wouldn't be a 'proper' nickname that he could use at school (I mean, it would be just an initial ). I had to look up the meaning of Quim but would Quin (with one n) still be similar - I mean the n and m sound quite different to most people, don't they?

I also like Charlie but there are so many around including in our circle of friends, so I'd prefer to use a variant of Quentin if possible.

I found with both dcs that whichever nn I used was the one which stuck. I think due to thd fact that I was the main carer and so introduced them myself mostly. Plus I write all thd thank you cards, Xmas cards etc and now everyone we know calls both dcs by the nicknames I used. Dh even uses them now!
So if you prefer quentin then stick with it and I guarantee that's what he will end up as!
I do like Quinn though personally.

Quinn, to me, is a wholly separate name. Two syllables seems OK for day to day use, so I'd stick with Quentin (maybe letting it abbreviate to Quenn/y in speech). Or go all James Bond and have "Q"

Quinn I think of as a female name, and so will a lot of other people due to the popularity of that Glee programme, Quentin is a lovely name as it is

My BF's brother is Quentin and known universally as Q.

Actually I know a Tintin but never knew what his real name was - maybe it as Quentin...? But it could also be Justin or Martin I guess.

Quentin is great, i think Quinn is a good abbreviation, or just Quent. i wouldnt go with Charlie though, seems a massive shame to give the boy a lovely unusual name and then use a really common one!

I know I Quentin called Ken by his family.
