I really love this name, am a huge Poldark fan and it conjures up images of swashbuckling men on horses with ponytails and tight breeches

Would I actually use it for dc2... I don't know. Part of me says yes, part of me says no. DH likes it.

Thoughts? :)

I think of Friends and the rather geeky Ross. But maybe I'm just common!!

Ah, see I have never seen Friends so don't know who he is.

Like it. Have only known one Ross (he's my SIL's partner and a very nice chap!) in RL, as well as the one on friends. Go for it if you really like it - there aren't many of them out there, but it's not a trying to be different name either IYKWIM, just nice, strong and hopefully you won't get nick-names out of it either - altho you'll always get those trying to call him Ross-y. We chose one syllabul name for DS and it amazed me the number of people who tried to lengthen it with a y at the end!!!

I love it and would have used it for DS1 or DS2....except for the fact that it is DH's name. No ponytail or breeches here either, but he is a little bit of a geek (in a good way :) )

My brother is called Ross and it's quite a common name for men of our generation (in Scotland anyway). I think it's a lovely name.

I like it too, and it will be hard to abbreviate.
