Any opinions on either of these?

Is one more popular than the other? What do they make you think?

Daisy is much better than Isla imo. Beautiful name.

I know one of each, both 2yrs and under. Prefer Isla I think, but like both.
Sorry, that probably doesn't help, does it?!

I've got a week old Daisy curled up on my chest right now. It's a beautiful name. But then I am biased.....

There are 2 Islas in ds's pre-school class this year. And I know 2 Daisys (or should that be Daisies?). Love both names though.

I love Isla! :) I like it much better for when she's grown up too. I think it's beautiful.

Isla is uber popular at the moment, and Daisy is rising fast too, if that doesn;t bother you go for it! Of the two I much prefer Isla, Daisy is a bit too cutsie for an adultSmile

Daisy.

I'm old and would have loved a DD. She would have been called Daisy.

I do not 'get' Daisy at all. No idea why it's so popular. But then again, my tastes don't run to cutesy, y/ie ending names.

Isla is lovely but also very popular. Would definitely chose it over Daisy, especially if there is a Scottish connection. :)

Isla for me.

I know heaps of Daisy's.

However both names are v pretty.

Both popular, Daisy actually higher up the stats than Isla although people on here always seem to go on about Isla being really popular (fwiw I have a dd with name similar to Isla and have met more Islas than Daisys though). I love Isla but sadly I would probably avoid it now as it is just too popular. It annoys me when people say it is trendy/ faddy though as it has always been a welll known name in Scotland, only in England it has suddenly exploded.

Daisy is a bit cutesy imo, though nice enough

Isla. Also not a fan of cutesy names.

i love isla but when my DD was born 4 yrs ago i text'd everyone saying her name was Isla - within minutes we had phone calls asking where we'd got the name Is-la from!! - we changed it super quick! I'm glad now as Isla becoming too common near me.

I think Isla is much nicer than Daisy.

Think there must be strong reginal variations!

Objective popularity from 2009 stats
Daisy - number 18, 2449 babies
Isla - number 30, 1908 babies

in England and wales. If you add on the scottish stats they are maybe about equal across uk

Isla is a beautiful name and is on the list for my so-far non-existant baby.

I know 1 Isla. Daisy has been popular for years around here and there are loads. But it s also a pretty name so what does it matter?

Isla is a lovely name to suit all ages and will be just as lovely on a grown woman as a baby.

Daisy is very cute for a little girl but not so much a grown woman. Am I speak as the mother of a 2 year old who is generally known as Daisy (full name Margaret). Grin

Isla has more class and sophistication about it.

Both very faddy though!
