Shortlist for DD2

Hi, I'm new to Mumsnet. I'd like your opinions please on our list of names for DD2. DD1 is Sophie.

Julia
Amber
Abigail
Emma
Charlotte
Devon


Surname begins with M and is quite long

Charlotte or Emma "go" best with your DD, though does Emma run ok with surname?

I really like Devon, but sounds a bit at odds with Sophie.

I know a couple of little boys called Devon. It just doesn't go with Sophie at all IMO.

Julia or Charlotte. Perhaps Devon as a nickname if it has a special meaning to you.

I know what you mean about Devon & Sophie. DH & I love it but our families hate it.

Julia is my fav, Amber is DH's favourite.

I don't really like Devon and Amber, but either would be fine in the middle.

I'd avoid Abigail - we have one, and moved from an area where it was not very unusual, but there were only one or two to somewhere where it is really really really common (5 in DDs year group).

They are all nice names though.

I really used to like Amber and was going to call our DD1 Amber Jo but DH said it sounded like a page 3 model! So we went for Scarlett instead!
