DH loves it. I'm not so sure. What are others' thoughts?

I'm keen on Matilda (Tilly) Rose
Orla
Juno

She's already 8 days old, we really need to name her!

I love it!! Really love it but DH didn't like it for our DD.

I also really like Orla from your shortlist.

Nope. P.S. I didn't name change to reply to this.Grin
You will have a life time of Dora shite in your house. People will buy everything Dora forever and think it's terribly witty.

i really like Dora. I almost had it on my girls list when pg with ds3, and the only reason I didn't was because of Dora the bloody Explorer
i still like it though

Matilda is lovely, very popular now though, I know several babies with that name

Orla and Juno both fab too! i don't see how you can go wrong! lol

Reddaisy don't worry the little girls themselves love that stuff. Smile and Jasmine is a very pretty name. As is Matilda and Orla OP.

I love Dora. And Juno.

I think Dora is great. Have a Matilda in our family so naturally think that is also great!

The explorer?

I wouldn't. Sorry.

No idea who or what Dora the Explorer is but it's a nice name

I like Orla and Juno. Dora just reminds me of the explorer and I do like Matilda but not the nn Tilly.

I quite like Dora (and like it best of your list). Orla and Juno are OK, but I dislike Matilda.

I love Dora and Juno. I would go for DOrothea and Juniper though and use Dora and Juno as nicknames. My favourite is Dora I think.
Really dislike Orla AND it is immensely trendy, so there will be loads of them at school with her (if that bothers you).
I know 7 of them, and 4 of them are under 18 months.
My vote goes to Dora.
Matilda is OK (my dd's mn!). I only like the nn Tilda though. I think Tilly is a bit of a daft name. I always expect a border collie to come running up when somebody calls out for Tilly in the park Blush Grin Wink

I love Dora, I also love Matilda. Aww Tilly Rose, so cute!
I need to give birth to an army of baby girls to use all my favourite names.

I think Dora is just too connected with Dora the Explorer now.

cumbria81 - it's a character from a TV show aimed at pre-schoolers.

I love Matilda and know a really cute one who is known as Tilly. Although MIL had a cat called Tilly.

My sis is Orla so I can't say anything against that!

Juno am not keen on really.

I know a baby Dora and an Isadora.

It's lovely, but Dora the Explorer would put me off, maybe that's because I have a Dora-obsessed toddler though!

I love Juno, and considered it for DD2, it's a very cool name Grin

Love it. I would use Theodora or Isadora on the BC.

The other names you're looking at are lovely too.

Much prefer Matilda and Tilly is so sweet! Prefer Isadora or even Pandora then just Dora... If your not too keen on it would Dh be happy with Matilda Dora? Congrats on your lovely little btw :)

tebbles · 12/01/2011 17:27

I think Dora the explorer. Prefer Nora, Laura, Cora.

Report
Hedwig3 · 12/01/2011 17:33

On the positive side...

It could be 'Dora The Explorer' that stops your daughter's name getting too popular because it would put a lot of people off even though it is a lovely name!

Thank you so much for all your help with this - finding it so difficult! I think we're going to settle with Dora Elizabeth (still hohumming though!)
