what do you think?

MissMiniEggs Sun 02-Jan-11 09:07:40

Lily - Rae or Macie Raine?

EauRouge Sun 02-Jan-11 09:09:06

Lily-Rae Cyrus.

Sorry, don't like it. Lily is OK but incredibly popular although that might not bother you. I really don't like hyphenated names with Mae or Rae on the end though.

Rockbird Sun 02-Jan-11 09:12:02

Lily is fine, Rae is awful.

NancyDrewHasaClue Sun 02-Jan-11 09:13:54

Lily is lovely but very, very popular.

Lily - Rae is awful. But then I am not a fan of hyphenated names at all.

truffleshuffle Sun 02-Jan-11 09:14:10

What EauRouge said.
Macie Raine is even worse...sorry!

BarbieLovesKen Sun 02-Jan-11 10:02:29

Lily is lovely. Lily - Rae is terrible. Hyphenated names are silly.

MistletoeMush Sun 02-Jan-11 14:50:11

Lily is great. Not keen on Rae and not keen on hyphenated names. Lily Rachel works. Quite like Macy but think that it will date. Not keen on Raine.

Nightstar Sun 02-Jan-11 15:00:41

Dont hyphenate - use Rae as middle name x

DooinMeCleanin Sun 02-Jan-11 15:02:46

Rae is lovely angry

I like Lily-Rae but I could be biased. It's v similar to dd1's name grin

TheMonster Sun 02-Jan-11 15:05:50

Both awful.

I have a Maisy-Rae, she is named after he g.aunt Rachel who is known as Rae as she hated Rachel.

Use 'Lily' as the first name and 'Rae' as the middle name. You can still call her 'Lily Rae' but this looks much better as an official name and it is a more appropriate name for both a child and an adult.

Lily-Rae is too childish IMO for a first name.

I dislike like Macie Raine.

NewYearNewPants Sun 02-Jan-11 16:44:55

I like Lily, but Lily-Rae, Lily-Mae, Lily-Fay etc - not good.

stressheaderic Sun 02-Jan-11 16:52:46

Agree with all others - hyphenated names not good. Would imagine you'd be calling her Lil from day 1 so why bother with the whole double name thing?
Macie Raine is dreadful. Sounds like porn star.

Megglevache Sun 02-Jan-11 17:00:47

I think that the whole hypenation of names is going to be more of a trend than the actual names themselves.

It is a huge trend most of the children in my dd's class at nursery have name X- followed by for girls:

or for boys

EricNorthpolesChristmas Sun 02-Jan-11 18:29:29

Made me physically shudder. Hyphenated names are generally awful, and anything-rae/mae is extra awful. Macie? not a name, nor is raine. Try looking at actual names, not just sounds you like.

MistleToad Sun 02-Jan-11 18:32:20

Awful awful name, sorry.

SlightlyTubbyHali Sun 02-Jan-11 18:35:34

Not my cup of tea.

Names ending Rae etc always remind me of Cath and Kim (baby Epponnee-Rae). A hilarious show, but not really what you want for your kids...

spidookly Sun 02-Jan-11 18:36:12

Awful for so many reasons.

PawPuss Sun 02-Jan-11 18:43:14

Both awful.

LittleYellowTeapot Sun 02-Jan-11 19:15:52

Lily is a lovely name. I must admit that the '-Rae' would spoil it a little.

Lily is lovely though smile

Sarsaparilllla Sun 02-Jan-11 19:23:52

If you wnt it hyphonated then do it, she can use just the first part when she;s older if she wants to.

My name is hyphonated and for years I did that, now sometimes I use both parts, I didn't realise so many people were anti hyphonated names

alemci Sun 02-Jan-11 19:26:47

don't mind lily but Rae sounds like a boys name and conjours up images of Raymond. Not keen on hyphenated names for that matter.
