Love it, suggested it on a thread tonight. Need to like Finn which ime it will inevitably be shortened to.

Finnian only if you know your politics though wink

suzikettles Fri 10-Dec-10 20:30:59

Yep. Finbar Saunders and his Double Entendres.

That's showing my age though probably.

<Fnar Fnar Yip Yip>

Sorry op - I do actually think it's a really nice name. Couldn't personally use it though because of the Viz thing and the massive pile of them we had in our sixth year common room.

KellyBronze Fri 10-Dec-10 20:32:44

ditto suzikettles.

Ooh Im really sorry but I really dont like this name at all. Maybe cos theres about 10 million of them around here and I find it ordinary and a bit "meh" but also I, personally just dont like the sound of it. Its Irish for Barry which although is a perfectly fine name, just is a bit boring and not special enough, if that makes sense.

If you like the F sounding Irish boys names, how about:

Fionn - (means fair)
Fiach - (means Ravan)
Felim - (always good)

Also, this site is really good for traditional Irish names: irish-boys-names-a-c/

anonymosity Sat 11-Dec-10 21:03:34

Excellent name. Also Fionton (pronounced Finton)

Needaname Sat 11-Dec-10 21:10:28

I miss Viz. Is it still going? I could never use Quentin or Tarquin for the same reason.

Perfectly nice name OP but anyone in their 30's will surely make the connection.

Connection. Fnarr Fnarr Snort.
