Baby names

Panicked about names!!!!

After a shocking discovery that I was 28 weeks pregnant, I feel a little panicked about names.
I know there is still a while left, but with my other three children I have had 9 months to think and now it will be more like 2!
I don't know what I'm having so I need a boys name and a girls name.

It has to go with my other DC's names which are

Isabella
Edward
Lola

Any suggestions please, as my mind is Blank!!

Also just have to say, yes I know I have a Bella and an Edward, but I named them long before the twilight saga was written!

Gosh, congratulations! I often wonder (and feel quite Envy) how people manage to not feel pregnant until so late in pregnancy. I guess you don't know yet whether it's a boy or a girl?

You seem to like quite classical names, so I'll give it a think and come back.

meggy, I read your other post about your pregnancy. Incredible! Congratulations - it must be quite a shock.

Your girl taste seems flowery and your boy taste traditional, so what about

Olivia
Emilia
Alexandra
William
Harry/Henry
Oliver

I think that Cecily, Violet, Alice, Daisy or Hazel would be lovely with your girls' names.

And Laurence, Theodore, Sebastian, James or Luke would go nicely.

Wow thanks for the suggestions you are all really on the right lines, and have suggested some I was thinking of.

I love
Sophia, Ava, and Fleur

I really like Kate and Alice but these are my nieces names!

and for boys
Sebastian, Oliver (is this really popular atm though?), Seth and Thomas.

My husband has suggested Felicity for a girl which I do quite like and Luca for a boy but is Lola and Luca a bit similar?

If you are worried about using Oliver due to its popularity I'd also avoid Ava as that is quite popular too.

And I'm sorry but Luca always makes me think of Sad

That song is truly awful!

Yes I wasn't too sure about Ava.

I also have always really liked Jacob but feel that I couldn't call a baby Jacob now as some people would think I have some sort of obsession with twilight!

I have an Oliver and although it's popular (according to the Top 100 names), I only know of one other... And I know I am biased but I really do think it is a perfect name! I like that the word 'love' is jumbled up amongst its letters :) x To make it less 'common' why not give him an unusual middle name..?

Have come to an almost decision!

For a girl she will either be

Sophia Calla Surname

or

Callia Sophia Surname

our Surnames is two syllables and begins with a H.

For a boy we have decided on

Oliver Ray Surname

Ray was my Grandfathers name.

Thoughts?

I prefer Sophia first.

Isabella, Edward, Lola and Sophia sounds nice.

Oliver is the best... you won't regret. I have an Oliver River :) (shh though, don't want all the sceptical faces looking this way because I have a nearly 'rhymer'! :))x

Bugger them darling, they're severely lacking in imagination! Would be a very boring planet of we all opted for Alfie/Josh/Sam (woof, woof), Izzy, Ruby ..etc!!!!! YAWN!

Well I'm uber pleased to see that I'm not the only one who thinks that Sam ought be exclusively reserved for our canine friends! ..don't get me started on Max! ..or Joe!Grin

That is hilarious. My second dog was Max! Seriously. However it is also my nephew's name, and it does actually work rather well for him!! :)

I was just going to suggest Sam :) I love it, it's DS's name.

Eleanora?
Charlotte?
Susannah?

Report
typsical · 30/11/2010 01:52

I really like Eleanor (and Eleanora for that matter), particularly nn. Nell. Charlotte was my pet hamster as a child...?! But I still love it! Is Sam Samuel or Samson? Like both, but there's something I love about Samson and can't put my finger on it!
